Why are most vegetarians women?

I believe they are more figure conscious... Some Guys I know that are vegetarians are Buddhist monks, and STING!

It is a good question. While some could say that it is stereotypical, my daughter has noticed this. As she's okay with being friends with non-vegans and non-vegetarians, but does not want to date someone who isn't and yet, there are hardly any males who are. Most that she meets are meat eaters. I wonder why.

You know, I never thought about this before, but I have to say almost all of the vegetarians I personally know, I only know of one that is a male. I know scads of them, and they are all female except for one, and he's the husband of a vegetarian. Unlike yugasini, I don't see where this could be possibly viewed as a 'damaging statement' lol. Nice observation though, and thinking about it, it does seem to be true that there's more women than men. I don't have a clue as to why that would be so, but it does seem to ring some truth. I'm sure there are lots of males too, just not in the area where I live at for sure.

Many children are born and then their family bring them up to eat meat. The boys are tough and don't mind animals are killed to produce food. Many men like fishing for example as a hobby. Lots of girls love animals and think that killing animals is cruel. Ladies are strong minded and caring towards animals, babies and children. Some females go vegetarian in their teenage years and stay like that. The teen years are a time for thinking about right and wrong. I am a vegan lady. I became a vegetarian at four years old. My mum, my sister, my brother in law and her kids are vegetarian. I know some vegan men but many many more vegan ladies.

hi bluegoblin, this is damaging statement,i am pure vegetarian,it is not mistake of mine that you never meet me to know that i am pure vegetarian male,ladies are soft just like flowers,they can not show cruelty to kill and cook non-veg,have a nice day
