Do you take note whenever you would attend meetings and conferences?  

Attending seminars and conferences of our interest is one of the best way to learn something very new in the topic we are interested in.It is good idea that we attend such conferences.

When I worked for someone else I always had a notepad handy or carried it with me if I went to someone else's office or attended a meeting. I learned a long time ago to take notes of conversations, at meetings and at conferences, because you can't depend on your memory 100% of the time. This habit served me well for years because, any time someone had a question or needed information, I had it. Now that my husband and I own our own business I am very strict about our recordkeeping. We own a motorcycle shop and, within minutes, I can provide my husband or a customer with any detail they need about their bike or the services we've provided down to the smallest detail.

yes, i make it a point to jot down important things in meetings that i attend to. it is a good reminder of topics taken there. in the past, when the children were in their elementary and high school years, i always had with me notebook and pen with me as i took down important notes for me and my child.

it saves me time from calling other participants or the school itself to ask questions on the matter, in case i forgot.

My previous work has me attending seminars and conferences almost always. It was either me going as a representative of my boss or I am really the participant. When I first attended these seminars I always take down notes but later on, the people behind the seminars would just give handouts to the participants that I stopped writing notes except for interesting one-liners on the edges of the hand outs.

I do take note, depending on two situation. The meeting is very interesting or it is too boring. If it's interesting, I might take notes of things that I can apply on my work later. I love new idea that can improve my work. If the meeting is too boring, I will still take note. Not because I love it but it's to keep me awake. If I stay still I will dozed off before I know it.

yup, when i was in college, we were always active in attending seminars. most specially if the professor requires us to take notes and a reaction paper about the speakers involve. we were even doing some surveys then after that seminar.
