Hello fellow countrymen!! Do you agree if somebody say that Philippines: is a country where politics is a good business investment, the profit is more than 1000 times,
is where everything can be forged., even the presidency
is where you impeached a corrupt president to be replaced by a more corrupt one
is where cheating is rampant during elections....

So in Philippine a corrupt president is impeached by congress in order to replace him/her with a much corrupt politician, that is such an outrageous allegation, no Filipino will stand by and accept nonsense like this to take place inside the country, the university students will rise up against it if that is the truth, since they are a bunch of brave generation of Filipino that toppled the former dictator 'marcos' regime.

If that's the case, then i think all Filipino will prepare a farewell party for her coming next election in case she run for presidency office again. I am sure Filipino people can judge by themselves the job performance of this president during her term and will decide intelligently with their votes whether she deserve the people votes for another term or not. I never heard much about her corruption and see any proof so far except she is living in a big mansion comparable to a palace while as a president of Philippine, if you consider that is corruption; then obviously it is not an allegation but a fact. People from different country have their own standard of definition in 'corruption' in dealing with own elected official, i will not second guess her and you since i have no proof whatsoever to substantiate my claim of she is a corrupt president and need to be removed and replace with a much corrupt politician.

Although, this is not my idea( it was uttered by someone else) but I agree to some extent. It's not even an allegation but it is a fact. Filipino power ousted Marcos who believed to be corrupt but was it not reported by pulse asia survey that today's president is the most corrupt one? what can you say friend! ! !

Who said that? He must assess his own country first.
The reign of greed is at hand.
That is why we have riots now in the streets of DC and New York. The civilians are up in arms against the police in Germany last night.
Never before had there been a clear dividing line by the rich and the poor. And it is all over the world. Not just the Philippines. Civil unrest is becoming the headline scenario in every major daily in the world. Ooops, I am not aware of South Africa and the Middle East. But greed does not choose places. I am sure there suffering people in those places, too.

Why are you so quick in putting my credibility down, nyhollyjean? What have I done to you? Why make it personal when we are here for discussions? You must be referring to the discussion of enemyofempire. What wrong thing did I say? I just participated in a discussion without knowing that he merely wanted Americans to answer. As I have always kept America in my heart, I also hold her people dear. I only like America to be great again. As it is, I am referring to greed all over the world. The street demonstrations were shown in the news. I could have misheard it when the anchors said DC or New York. Perhaps it is another city. But people were rallying for their welfare. Placards and fists and angry crowds were shown in fleeting seconds. I prayed that the civil unrest would stop in your country, as I do on bended knees for my country. I constantly feel the poor in my being, especially the ones who eat garbage scraps. And I am angry at the rich who had taken dignity away from my countrymen. You have seen how Martial Law came to unfold in the 70s. It is worse now. The politicians had become cautious about leaving trails of their greed. The people are still suffering. But hope springs eternal.

Yes I also agree that they are using their positions to acquired more wealth like what is happening in the current administration and corruptions is rampant. I don't believe anymore in the politicians they always have hidden agenda. That's why our country is not progressive because of these kind of politicians they use their position to there own interest.

The Philippines is a good gateway to Asia (not to offend the other Asian countries, It's just depressing that because of corruption and their lucrative business called politics, our Pearl of the Orient Sea is in a sad state. If only, we can run the country ourselves just for a week!

Hi irene!
I do agree with you, Philippines is a country where politics is a good investment, profit is more than a thousand folds. Erap has been ousted as he is a plunderer but replaced by GMA who brought a more corrupt husband to the palace threathening their counterparts to back-off.
Dear fellow countrymen, come 2010 elections! Let us vote for the less evil presidentiable, somebody who's not that brilliant but someone who was never dragged by any form of corruption. Good Day!

Sadly, I would have to say that that is what's happening to our country right now. Our corrupt president, along with his crooked husband, with their crooked children, has increased their wealth 100 fold. But it's just a matter of time and this crooked family will soon face justice, and that would be a glorious day for all Filipinos.

No, I definitely do not agree since I know there are other countries that are more corrupt. But the good thing is, their economy is good.
I think therefore that it's time to help each other. Instead of blaming each other, why not help each other? If we spend more time watching the government instead of working hard, we will not grow. After all, it's the people who decide and not the president alone.
If we will only analyze things, corruption is forever and the best we can do is not join them. Corruption is not only applicable in the government, as even simple private employees do that too.
So instead of pointing fingers, I think it's better if we start looking ourselves in the mirror and ask how can I help myself to grow.
Thanks!

It's a painful feelings to hear that, my friend. I admit that this is true. I am not shame to say "yes" because this is really true. I witness my two eyes and hear with my ears and feel guilty with my heart...Those politicians is shameful...How about you what is your reaction? Have a nice day!

The sad part of every thing you have said is that the innocent people like each and every one of us suffers from all of this. This has been the work of people who are hungry for power and take advantage of people. I long for the day when we see people from the government who will really live up to the ideal of being a real public servant.

well, that's not something new..as long as there's no ability to exposed this corrupted officials in full detail, there's no way we can determine how to eliminate this kind of people in the government.too bad we had a worse president after the fall of estrada

Reality check its true. The percentage of getting richer is better if your in politics. Everything that comes your way will have some percentage kickback.Corruption is everywhere much more if your in position to do it making it appear not so obvious. Little showy projects for one's constituents makes politicians' name more appealing and winnable again. Conditioning their minds that your doin your job with such half cooked projects. Not knowing half of the budget were all pocketed for the greater glory of greedy crocodillians in the halls of legislature.

Let's admit it. It's correct. Sad to say, it's the true scenario here in our country. Corruption is all over. Beginning from the highest position down to the lowest position. I wonder how long before there will be a total change in the system. Still a blurry picture ahead for all of us.

I do agree with you... especially since there are news about the president and her son's sudden increase in wealth for the past years that they are in office... not even a business genius could gain like 100% increase in wealth... and these two gained more than that... but then... this sort of thing is not only happening here in the Philippines... there are also countries where graft and corruption is more rampant... thus there is civil unrest... and very little hope for peace...
