I didn't know. Thank you for bring this out. I'll be searching the news now for more information. I think in his career there can't be just one favorite, there just can't be. I loved him in Road House and Ghost, but he was in so many films and everything he did he poured his heart into. Rest in Peace Patrick and God Bless.

This news surprised me, as it still not being mentioned here in the Philippines. Anyway, I watched some of his older films but I like him best at Ghost. This film was a monster hit during that time. And yes, he will surely be missed.

i know! i am devestated! I actually just started a topic in the "Love" interest, odd place i know...but he was the first ever love of my life...at the age of about 10 LoL......i fell in love with him as Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing......*sighs whilst remembering*.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Johnny: "I've never known anybody like you, Baby. You look at the world and you think you can make it better. If somebody's lost, you find them. If somebody's bleedin'..." Baby: "Yeah, I go get my daddy. That's really brave. Like you said." Johnny: "That took a lot of guts to go to him. You are not scared of anything..." Baby: "Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw. I'm scared of what I did, of who I am. And most of all... I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life, the way I feel when I'm with you." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So yes, by far, Dirty Dancing.....even though he was old enough to be my father, he was the handsomest "bad boy" character ever.....and watchin him dance! whooowee!...

Oh my word. Your post is the first I heard of it. I just went to people.com and sure enough they have it on their site. I feel so badly for his wife. If they had children she would have at least part of him left behind with her...I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I think my favorite Patrick Swayze project was Tall Tale. It's a movie I'm sure not many are familiar with. But I really liked it.

I just now heard the terrible news minutes ago on TV! My daughter and I were just talking about him yesterday, wondering how he was doing since there had been so many false rumors about him in the tabloids for months. He certainly did fight a long, hard, BRAVE battle and he beat that horrid disease longer than most had expected him to. It's hard for me to say which was my favorite of his projects. The first thing I remember him in was the miniseries "North and South", which I absolutely loved. Then there was "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing" which are both classics. More recently I saw him in two of his earlier movies, "Point Break" and "Youngblood". I know there are others I'm forgetting right now but I'm sure they will all be on TV within the next few days. He was one of the few who were the entire package - good looking, talented and a great human being to boot. He'll sure be missed! Annie

Oh my. This is the first time I have heard of his passing. I was shocked. I have always loved his dancing moves in Dirty Dancing. He was an extra ordinary dancer. He will be surely missed. I have not seen an actor who dances that gracefully. May his soul rest in peace.

This is sad news. I hadn't heard about it until I read this discussion. He was a really good actor. I liked him in so many movies, such as The Outsiders, Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse, Point Break, Next of Kin, and Black Dog not to mention the series that he just started called "The Beast". He put up quite a fight, but cancer is a formidable opponent. He kept his life private despite his fame, and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I am really sad to hear this news.
