should i quit and just get a job? |
|
I have been going to school on and off since 2003 and still have not received any type of degree. I just feel really dumb and I'm really sick of all the homework. My family does not always make it easy for me to study or do homework. I have had many family related issues that have caused me to have to quit in the middle of a semester and to be honest, i am just burned out. I'm sick of people asking me When u gonna graduate? I owe financial aid out the butt, plus i do have a personal loan for school that i will have to pay back. Maybe i am just whining, but i am so confused, i feel like a failure and i cant seem to get over it.

Don't ever think that you're a failure because the battle is not yet finish. You still have a lot of chance to make it. Just believe in yourself and I know you'll gonna make it.I wish you good luck on the said quest.

3. grace118224 (671) | 3 months ago | Well in this situation if you feel you cann't go on with your study then getting a job is quite reasonable and good for you. Please don't look down upon yourself . A lot of are not good at school but they did work well . If my son in the future doesn't like to study at school i think it's ok for him to try to find some jobs and then studying while working at the same time.

4. YoungInLove (960) | 3 months ago | QUIT. Im surprised you didnt think of it earlier. If you keep paying for classes that you cant graduate from becuase something happens and you have to quit. Thats a huge sign that you need to quit for a while. If i was you, id start paying back the loans, and then think about going back, or take one course at a time so I can graduate but work at the same time. Im in the same boat I missed alot of school and work becuase I had pneumonia, and realized I needed to work first if I didnt want to be in massive debt. So I plan to take a couple online courses. That way I am slowly working towards graduating, it would be a SLOWER process, but atleast you would be on your way.

7. prikayjo2436 (211) | 3 months ago | Hey femaleinohio! Well my honest opinion is for you not to quit... It might be hard for you now, but it will benefit you and your family in the future... You have a sense of security with a degree and job hunting should be easier on you! If it is to hard just take a whole semester off to cool down and just make sure that you go back! That is what happened to me! I only have a few credits to graduate and as soon as I took a few semesters off I have not gone back! So don't let this happen to you!

8. dramaqn (798) | 3 months ago | Don't fret. It can get better. This I know personally, due have been in those shoes. What exactly are you studying? What type of degree do you desire? I realized I want to be a phlebotomist many moons ago (I'm 35). I went to a 2yr school after graduating. That just wasn't for me. I get bored easily. I just wanted to draw blood, but had to do medical assisting to get there(so I thought). Anyway, long story short, I finally (many moons later)went to Portage Lakes Career Center and obtained my phlebotomy license. But of course that was after an attempt to go to Akron U (yes, I live in Ohio). The attempt wasn't necessarily failed by me, my grades and attendance were good. However, my husband at the time got ill and I had to quit school to take care of him and my children(took on a third job). Then somewhere down the road of not getting hired as a phlebotomist and renewing my license for two years ($200 to renew) I decided I needed something else. So, I was inspired by my oldest child and ex-husband to go to school for criminal justice. I went to Kaplan online. I loved it. I was on the Deans list and everything. However, yet again my education was put on hold because of some man in my life. My fiance had me so stressed out to the point I had to go to therapy and plus deal with the fact that no wedding was going to happen, I had to put school onl hold. So, now my dreams of having a criminal justice degree to do intakes in the juvenile facility with my phlebotomy license and now STNA license is in layaway, yet again.
So, I'm happily working in my STNA career and doing sales on the side. The point is, college will always be there. Kaplan University is great. In fact they just opened an admissions office in downtown Akron (FYI). That sure makes it easier for submitting admission papers. But whatever it is you are striving for, remember it's ok to break it up in sections. You don't have to do it all at once, some people burn out that way.
The beauty of college: It's always There

| 9. ninelysse (12) | 3 months ago | If you really want to persue a career that requires a degree, then I say stay. Not only will you be getting your dream job but it will also be easier to pay off your loan.
If not, I say quit and get a job. Work for awhile and save money. Try to pay off your loan as soon as possible. Once you're stable, you can decide to go back but this time you will have the money to support your educational needs.
