My Hitachi HDD recently crashed and I had to get a new one. I bought a Samsung HDD from my vendor but when I installed it, it was not showing up in the BIOS. Its still raw. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Hey,
I don't really know how to actually fix your problem with your hard drive, I am honestly sorry about this. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Not showing on the BIOS?
One possibility is some incompatibility issue between your motherboard and the new hard disk. I assume that it is a big capacity hard disk.
If after setting the jumper on the HDD does not solve the problem, ensure that the HDD is not sharing the cable with any other device if it is an IDE HDD. Or maybe it is a SATA HDD? Then maybe you should check the BIOS setting.
If directly using an OS installer does not help, use another computer to have the HDD partitioned and formatted. It worked when I faced the same problem.

hi friend..is it your secondary hard disk or primary?? if it is secondary HD, it supposed to work well. but if it is your primary HD, and no other HDs than this one, you need to format and reinstall your operating system.
