I had a whole lobster served to me when I was 15 years old. My dad said I could have anything I wanted from the menu. The face didn't bother me at all, but I nedded my dads help to break the hard shell open so I could eat the meat. I loved it. I can't eat shellfish anymore though because I am now allergic to it.

I've never even eaten lobster! lol - I think I may have had a bite at the Taste of Chicago one year. I am not really into fish - especially shellfish. There is no way I would have been able to eat a lobster with its face looking at me. I would feel too bad. It would be like eating a cow with its face looking at me.

No I have not, but personally I do not like lobster very much. The only seafood I like is shrimp so I would would never order or be served a whole lobster. If we go to an event where there is steak and lobster tail, I give the lobster tail to my wife, and she gives me most of her steak, she need to take a bite or two of it first though because she really likes steak, but she really likes lobster too.

Hi Lady
Yes I have had whole lobsters literally hundreds of times. It is my favorite food in the whole world and being raised in Boston as I was, my brother and I were pratically weined on it!! We used to have our own lobster traps out in the harbor and get lobsters everyday in the summer. When I was in college, many years ago, I worked in a seafood restaurant in Boston and had to serve lobster all night. Lots of folks like yourself didn't like the "eyes" staring at them, so I used to shell the crustation at table side (was great for the tip!) I have lots of great lobster receipes and if you are adventerous, just ask..my favorite is Lobster Thermadore which is a very rich dish made with cream and sherry..I also make a mean Baked Stuffed Lobster and a killer Lobster Pot Pie. Here in Florida they have Florida lobster which really isn't a lobster but a crayfish and it isn't half as good as cold water lobster nor as sweet..I guess thats more info than you asked for!! Now I'm hungry for lobster!! J
