Well my kids are out of school for three weeks again. They go to a year round school so they get time off when other kids are in school and they only get five or six weeks off for summer. What type of schedule would you like better? I kind of like the vacations throughout the year. That way I have three weeks to recuperate after 9 weeks of school. LOL

All I can think about is those three weeks I won't be getting paid. If my school were on that schedule I would have to get another job. As it stands I may have to do it anyway.

I think the school my daughter goes to the teachers get paid year round. You are hired based on a yearly salary and I think you get paid twice a month. I won't swear to that, it has been a while since my friend and I had that conversation and I'm not sure she wants to talk about it anytime soon. LOL The poor thing is going to be out of school for about six weeks due to an emergency surgery.

Are you looking for a job because of the way you are paid? I can certainly understand. I hope you don't have to give up something you enjoy.

You keep forgetting that unlike academic teachers who have a salary because they are full time I only teach a couple hours per day. And not, I am not looking for anything else just yet.

Year round school? first time I hear of this kind of weird school. Better keep in them in school for 365 days, then they will take just few years to reach college! Do you have year round school and 24 hours a day school? Better send your kids to this kind of school, then they wont bother you for the next ten years! By the time you see them again, they graduate from college already!

Scheng, I heard you are running a 24/7 school. I saw the paperwork so I am signing them up and shipping them out now. Boy, you will be sorry. Oh, I am sending them cod because shipping charges were extremely high. This will get tacked on to the school charges I am sure.

That is interesting. Where we live, school is out for about three months for the summer. In our area they have discussed switching to school year round, but I never knew if it would be better or not. Do they get three weeks off after each nine weeks?

The kids get three weeks out every nine weeks and the three weeks fall EVERY YEAR on Christmas break. They get five or six weeks off for summer. In a way it is really nice because they don't get as bored as they normally would and they don't get as tired of school.
