Church organization  | |  The Catholic church has the pope, cardinals, archbishops, bishops, priest, and deacons respectively in the said order. Similarly, Protestant churches have minister, head pastor, assistant pastor, deputy pastor, elders, deacons, If Christ is the head and we are all brothers, why is there such heirarchy in the church? Is the pastor or elder have the last word in the assembly?

I don't know much about it but what I know is that the Pastor is God's representative in a certain local church but He's not the boss. Aside from the Pastor, there are no other people who are officers in the church. I am in a Church where we are all the same in the foot of the Cross. There is none above everybody. The Pastor is the overseer of the Church and only the bible is the standard for faith and practice.

 2timothy (388) | 3 months ago | I would presume that the church you meet with is small in number, possibly below a hundred. Even so, there is a difference between autocracy and theocracy. Usually, a group that is in the hundreds and thousands cannot hold order without some kind of organization. | |
