Continuously rude customer service (management)?  email this discussion to a friend?

How do you deal with an incredibly rude employee from a smaller business, when they happen to be the MANAGER of the business? And quite possibly the owner?

I have a problem with the girl at the consignment shop where I consign a lot of my clothes at. I love the store, and I definitely don't mind getting paid for the clothes I don't wear.. But the manager is ALWAYS incredibly rude. I should probably mention that I'm usually exceptionally nice to customer service people (being that I have worked as one, and I understand how lovely it is to have nice 'customers').. And so her rudeness is never solicited in any way. I'm wondering what route to take with this.

I'm pretty vocal about my opinions and beliefs, and when I have a bad customer service experience more than one time with the same person - I usually write a letter or complain in some sort of manner. This might sound like a really annoying thing to do, but as someone who works in the same field.. Even on my WORST days I still manage to be at the VERY least civil to people. NEVER rude. That's just.. plain common sense.

At any rate, when an employee is exceptionally rude to me, I'll usually write a letter to the management letting them know what their employees are doing. But this employee in question IS the management. Now what do I do?

Should I write a letter addressing HER? Again, it's a smaller business, so I don't think that there's a corporate office to complain to or anything like that.

What would you dO?

I would stop coming over there and do business with them. I think there are couple more places that will take me as a customer and showing better appreciation. Just tell her that you will never doing business anymore with her place, see if she has the courtesy to apologize and give a try to keep you as the best customer.

That sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, I'm almost committed to them for another 2 months (part of their 'contract' for consigning), but perhaps I'll let her know that after that..I'll move my business elsewhere. Good idea, I didn't even think of threatening her in that way. lol.

If it prvately own, there's not much you can do, but if she acts that way toward her customers, her business will suffer and people, will not go to her any more and she, will lose money like that.sadthumbdown

Please don't give them your custom, then they would soon be wondering why they can't operate......

Do you mean to say I should stop going there and supporting them as a business?

I would try to find a similar business to deal with that provides the same service but freindlier of course.

You can first try by writing a letter to the owner. Even if that is her if she gets it and doesnt even try to reach out and appologize to you or if shes continuously rude to you then you need to go above her/the owner which is the Better Buiness Buero in your town. If she's being so rude to you than more than likely theres other people shes being rude to. You need to try to find some of these people then go to a town hall or BBB meeting and make a formal complaint about her establishment. They will tell you what to do from there. Good Luck thumbup Go get em girl!

Personally I think I would stop frequenting that place. You are doing them a Service by allowing them to Sell your Clothes for you, so unless you are putting a lot of extra demands on them they cannot meet, then this is uncalled for behavior as well. I would be moving all of my stuff out of there if it was me, and finding alternative ways to make some Extra $$ from the clothes I can no longer wear as well. I have actually told a waitress to her face I will not be eating in her restaurant when she is working, and have made it a point to stick to that, so I wish you the Best in finding a solution for your situation as well.
