anxiety makes me think  email this discussion to a friend?

when im under pressure my mind works. like during my college years i always cram. i don't study ahead of time because my mind doesn't like to absorb what i'm reading. but when the day of my exam comes my mind is unstoppable.

I like how you describe your mind during the day of exam - unstoppable. But I believe that preparation is very needful and important. Our mind can have assimilate a certain information in a certain span of time and it needs some time to do so. Therefore, it is necessary to read ahead of time and study even just little by little. In time, your mind will form the habit and it will be easier for you to study well. Cramming is not a good habit.happy

My mind never stops. It;s like someone duct taped the on switch or something. Even if I don't feel stressed my mind is always going about this and that. I think it is the chemicals in the brain that are all outta whack due to anxiety itself.

I can totally relate to this, Angie. My mind is the same way but not from anxiety. It just doesn't want to stop or even slow down most days. Fortunately, there are days when I am totally content, and then it is better but not calm.

Yea it can be crazy at times. I never thought of people who don;t suffer from anxiety having to deal with mind racing. Jotting down the new thing I learned today. So far my motto of I learn something new everyday from mylot is still standing true lol

I'm glad that I can help to keep your motto proving true.thumbup I have had anxiety at times, but it is not something that I commonly deal with. I have been dealing with the whole "mind racing" thing my entire life, though (or at least as much of it as I can remember). For a long time I thought it was just me, but some of my best friends have been the same way. It is nice, because then they can follow my conversation, since I tend to skip from topic to topic and back again.

OMG I do that same thing. Good thing my only real friend I have has anxiety and bi polar like I do so she totally gets me. I knew we would be good friends me and you happy

My mind works better under pressure, too. I would cram for tests the morning of the exams, and then ace them. If we had two weeks to write a report, I would try to start it right away. Then, I would go back and read what I had written, and it would be awful. If I waited until a day or two before the report was due, however, I would write extremely well. This tactic works well for some people, but other people need a lot of preparation time to learn the information, become comfortable and confident that they really do know it, and then they can write about it or take the test and do well.
