How much do you spend on coffee a week? email this discussion to a friend?

There was a report recently, stating that more people are making coffee at home rather than buy coffees from starbucks, or coffee shop, etc...... The major reason is that people are trying to save extra bucks in their pocket now. It is reasonable, and it would be a good habit, if you agree with me. Me, myself still buying coffees from Starbucks at least twice a week. I am making progress, because I usually getting coffees from Dunkin Doughnut or starbucks daily; now I cut it down in attempt to saving more cash. So, do you still buying coffee from outside more often, or you change the trend to make coffee at home instead?

I make mine at home. I used to buy coffee at the kiosk in the library where I worked when I was in college, but now I make coffee either at home or at work. Occasionally I get an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts as a treat, but that's pretty rare.

hi clorissa, I see it on my long commute to work, when at every train station people with coffee to go enter the train. lol. apparently a coffee to go in your hands state that you have made it up the carreer ladder and you can easily throw money out of the window with having a coffee to go every day. Even worse are the many people who buy the coffee to go directly on the train while commuting sending out a signal of "we dont have to mind ur finances", cause the coffee to go on trains is good but double or even three times as expensive than the ordinary To Go Stuff. LOL You will now ask how does she know the coffee on the trains is so good, cause I once had a voucher for one as courtesy for a train being really delayed for more than half an hour.
I get up at 4 am and have to leave house at 5 am and I am one of these penny pinchers who will wait till being at the office at 9:30 am to get me my first coffee of the day. Then it will even not be out of the big coffee maker in the cafeteria cause there a measly cup, not a mug, is 55 cents, a mug would be 75 cents. I still find that too expensive and only have instant coffee, and wait for the wonderful next weekend to have real good filtered coffee again. lol.

If I would not have to commute so very far to work I would sure take one of these nice thermos cups with a lid and make my coffee at home and bring it along with me while commuting. I still dont see that often enough even with people who only commute regionally and could well do so to save cash.

Like you said, a coffee to go here and there will not hurt but should not be a daily habit.
