Does anyone else ask if the amount they're earning is a lot or do you just know?

As I'm disabled and wasn't even allowed to work over the table until 2006 changing that law was the only positive thing George W. Bush ever did for this country in my opinion), I sometimes have a weird concept of money. I tend to think a little bit of money is actually a lot of money because I've never actually earned any or at least not much so I've taken to inquiring of people with more money related experience if what I'm being paid or what I'm being offered is an appropriate amount. Does anyone else do this or am I just weird?

I think it's pretty common for people to want to know whether or not they are being paid "competitive" wages.
I think that my perception of money is similar to yours. What I think of as "a lot of money" some people that I know, think of it as "spare change". I guess how we perceive money depends on the amount of money we grew up with, or the amount of money we have at any given moment.
It's always a good idea to know if you are being paid fairly or not.
But once you know...then you have to figure out, if you are being underpaid, if it's worth the risk to ask for more.
Life is full of complicated questions, isn't it? ugh.
