There Must Be Lots of Stories about Coffee - This Happened a Loong Time Ago!!

Many years ago coffee was very expensive so people saved the settlings in the pan and sometimes put cicoria to get more taste in the thin coffee.. 
Many, many years ago my grandma used to save coffee and always cooked the same coffee many times together with just a little new coffee.
Some guys - maybe her sons or grandsons - hid a salted fish under the settlings in the pot and everyone can understand that the coffee she cooked tasted awful.. 
Well - she washed the coffeepot and made some fresh coffee that time.
I hope she could laugh at this afterwards, at least I know that some guys did..

I remember my grandma doing that, too. It's no wonder I didn't like coffee when I was a little girl!
Sometimes I'll get my coffee ready to brew, turn on the pot and wonder why there's no coffee dripping down--it's because I forgot to add the water!
