| | 4. ElicBxn (15182) | 2 months ago | it seems that most people hear macaroni, and think "and cheese" because that's how it is often fixed in the States. I would go for a simple spaghetti the first time.
if you are planning to cook from scratch, then a can of whole tomatoes (blended in a blender till mostly chopped up), a can of tomato paste, onions (about half of one), bell pepper (again, about half) if you like them, saute them in a little olive oil then add the tomatoes & paste then start adding spices, salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary, garlic, basil and any other "Italian" type spices would work, maybe even some chili powder if you like spicy
let cook an hour, if you want a meat sauce, then brown ground meat with garlic and onion and add near the end
cook noodles according to directions and you have an easy, tasty dish

Backed Zita, pizza and spaghetti of course..
Was you planning to buy Italian food or make something?
If you were going to buy it you should try to go to the Olive garden but it is a little expensive..
Good Luck to you...

You will need to fry the ground beef first. Then cook the noodles for about 5 minutes in some boiling water. Take a oval cake pan,and greese it first, then lay about 5 noodles in the bottom of the pan. Layer with some ground beef. Pour some spagetti sauce on top then top it with cheese. Continue with this process until you have made about 3 layers of noodles, beef, sauce, and cheese. That is my type of lasagna.

| | 7. paula27661 (5184) | 2 months ago | I love ravioli. Being Italian I was brought up on all sorts of pasta! My mother makes her own from scratch and serves them with a bolognese sauce and fresh parmesan. You can buy ravioli which taste almost as good and all you need to do is add your condiments.Yum!

| | 8. annihilus (1923) | 1 month ago | Sorry read your help request only now. I hope the birthday not yes been. Well, if it is the first time you can try a simple recipe. Below the international link of Barilla http://int.primopiatto.barilla.com/home/htm/home.htm where you can find more info! Remember, you need to cook the pasta only the minutes indicate on the pack! If for example you use spaghetti #5 you need to boil them 8 minutes. Wait until the water into the pot boils, after put the spaghetti inside.Count the minutes not when you put the spaghetti into the pot, but start counting when the water resume to boil.Sometimes the duration need to be little longer (it depends from your cuisine) but generally if indicate 8 minutes are 8 minutes, not more than 9. Please don't leave boiling for 10 or more! You are cooking pasta, not glue! About the sauce, for this first time use simply tomatoes. If you find canned tomatoes in little pieces it is good. Otherwise buy tomatoes and cut them in little pieces. Take a big pan, put olive oil (only olive oil!), 3-4 pieces of garlic, some origan and bay laurel in very fine pieces, if you like also chili pepper ( I suggest you from calabria - Italy- or from Indonesia or Guadeloupe -piment-... are the better!). Cook in the pan not with big fire, but medium fire... you need to cook the sauce not less than 20 minutes. if you cook with big fire the result is not good! Look sometimes the sauce and mix all. You don't have to use salt for the sauce. The salt you are using in the water boiling with the pasta. Generally use 90 grams per person but I suggest you 120 grams! Try and tell me! I'm ready to fly from Italy for tasting you pasta! Good luck!
