Hello friends, they said that "to refuse an offer is a great insult" are you adapting this phrase? Would you still accept an offer (food specially), if you are already full? In our country we are known of our being hospitable. One form of this is by giving anything, foods as a sort of a gift. Another common thing is by inviting-to-eat to someone unexpectedly visited the house at the time of meals. I just don't know if you're practicing this also in your country. Well, in connection to this, can you afford to reject or refuse any food offered to you to eat? What will you do to make this situation fair between you and the giver?Com'on let's see how wise are we dealing this offered food when we are already filled....

It is quite difficult for me to refuse food even if i am already full... i just get a small amount so that i wouldn't hurt the feelings of the host or homeowner... this attitude is actually very benfial for me because i used to not eat a lot of types of food... but since i need to do the taste test during fiesta or any home visit... i came to love eating veggies like okra, string beans, cauliflower, broccoli... and food like Kare kare and sisig...

OMG I don't know how to deal with this situations. I accept even if i'm not hungry. My solution it's to take a spoon of what's offering to me, eat it and refuse the rest and explain that i'm sorry but i'm not hungry else adding that the food is delicious.

Yes that's the problem really, thinking that it could embarrass someone when we refuse it..well for me the best idea would be eat a little and if if it would be permitted bring the food with you in your home... lol..is that a good idea? Thanks for responding..

hi mobhomeir I have a fairly reasonable excuse when i am too full as I am a diabetic and overeating will shoot my blood sugar sky high.so I will just say I am sorry but I cannot eat more as I am a diabetic. most people will not get upset over that as it is really a valid excuse. I will usually say if we get together again I will really enjoy that particular dish. thanks.

Yes I understand that if I would be the one who would offer you. But what about the others? would all be thinking that you have health problem? Maybe some said just eat a little, well that would be fine..but for me, if someone really insist of letting me eat in spite the reason why I don't anymore, I think I would just look or ask a pouch and bring home all the stuff they offered. They like it or not. Is a good idea? lol...thanks for responding then...lol

Ugh I hate this. Why can't people just be happy when someone ate what they have prepared and they liked it? That's why I never get offended if someone is full and says no to more food. Usually I don't care if someone gets offended if I refuse more to eat. I just say "No, thank you, I am full. But the meal was delicious." Me liking the meal should be their satisfaction.

Yes. You don't give a damn if someone feels insulted? Well that's your opinion and you're entitled for that..well if that happen to me and I could not refuse? Well, I would just ask a pouch and put all the stuff on in and bring home with me that food..would that be a good idea then? ha ha ha lol Thanks anyway for responding..

hello mobhomier, Why refuse the offer if i can asked for a take out instead. for me, it's bad luck if you refuse a "food offer" otherwise, i would get hungry later on. although a couple of days ago i was offered another money making opportuity in another site. but i declined it with a bit of a spice. i dunno suddenly i got myself an attitude when ever am offered to be their referral, probably it was an insult.

Yeah...that the idea i commented to some responders because there are lots of people who would never accept NO for an answer. I suggest to ask for a pouch and put in all the food they offered and bring it home...a good idea isn't it my friend...heheh Thanks for responding...

i think it is definitely a good practice to receive an offer but if the situation arises a person should a atleast be polite and say that you are already full but thank you anyway.

There are people who would never accept NO for an answer.I mean they would never accept whatever reasons why you could not anymore..well in my case, I would rather ask a pouch and ii it's permitted to bring home the foods then I will...he he he would that be a good idea then my friend? Thanks anyway for responding...

If I was full, I would let them know very nicely, that I had eaten at (home, restaurant, somewhere else) before I got there because I did not know that this was an invitation to eat. If I had known ahead of time that it was an invitation to eat, I would not have already eaten.

Yes you have a reason. But there are some people that never accept of whatever reasonable reasons. Well, for me, in my case if I would encounter that problem, I would just ask a pouch and bring home all the stuff they offered with me...would you think that could be the best idea? lol...thanks for responding..

It's indeed difficult but if one would explain it well that one cannot take the food because one is full, this i believe is acceptable. Besides its glutony and it would be a waste of food if you will accept it.

Hi mobhomeir,How are You? Yes!I my self still adapting this phrase but not at all times. It depends if a person is not stranger to me or unless i am sure who they are.In my part, i'm hurt if my offer is rejected, because when i offer something i am very very sure that it comes from my heart. even though i am full but still i will.I don't want to hurt anybody especially my friends.Good day!

Yes I understand. If you're the host and I am the one your visitor and I could not eat anymore since I am already full or whatever reason I could not eat. Would you agree if I would just ask a pouch and bring home all supposedly the food you offered me? he ha ha haha ha ha ha Thanks for the reply ...
