We are hosting a baby shower in a little over a month. We are in the planning process right now and are having trouble with the menu. The shower will be held in between lunch and dinner time. We are looking at finger foods and snack type foods. Our list is short and I am looking for suggestions from my fellow mylotters.
So far, we only know that we want to have a vegetable tray, fruit tray, and crackers with chicken dip and spinach dip. We are also considering ham biscuits and "pigs in a blanket". I feel like we need another meat type finger food. Do you have any suggestions?
The next question on the menu is dessert. Do you have to have a cake for a baby shower? I was thinking of a variety of cookies instead so that hopefully everyone can find something they like. I was thinking maybe cookies and brownies. What is your opinion on the situation?
Any help, advice, and suggestions are appreciated!

It sounds like you have plenty of food. I think little sandwiches are always nice. As for dessert, usually people just have cake, but you could have a cookie assortment I guess. That might be something good and people can pick what they like in terms of the cookies.
