| Is Wedding Cake necessary in a wedding ceremony?  | | | |  I am just confused with some rituals in weddings, because back in the province couple who are getting married never mind about the wedding cake. In fact when I was growing up there, I never saw any wedding cake in the reception of the newly weds.
So my question, is wedding cake necessary or not in a wedding?what does it symbolized?

| |  Wedding cake is important although right now some people only use dummy on the ceremony, it symbolized a unity of two heart that will be together in their life from now and so on(Usually the couple cut the wedding cake together from top to the bottom) :)

| |  I don't think that a wedding cake is necessary during a wedding ceremony and reception. I do, however think that it is something that is symbolic in the new life that you are starting. Here in the United States, when making the first cut into the wedding cake the bride and the groom do it together. For me that symbolizes unity. That from that point on in your life you will be doing things together, no matter how small they may be.
