Since I was elementary, I've known this fact or picked this up somewhere I relaly don't remember. Here it goes:

It is said that the reason for being sleepy after eating is because the stomach gathers most oxygen in the body in order to burn the food you have ingested. The low amount of oxygen in the brain is the cause for the sleepy feeling one experiences after eating.

Is it true? or just something in my imagination hahaha

You get sleepy after eating because your body uses energy to digest your food. If you eat easily digestible food, you don't get as tired. If the foods are harder to digest, your body works harder and longer to digest and you will be sleepy. The amount of food also plays a part. Keep a record of what you eat and how much you eat. Then keep a record of how much energy you have after eating. You will notice a pattern. While sugars digest fairly easily, they increase your energy for a short time and then you get the crash.

Oh, so when we eat sweets, we should eat it continuously in order not to get sleepy, or else we'll crash?

jeanmtdb (30)  3 months ago

No, you should not eat sweets continuously so that you can avoid the crash. You should really limit you sweets. Get your energy from good, wholesome foods then there are no highs and lows. Therefore, no crash.
