Hello,
well, I have one problem right now... I have a car parked in front of my house for a week now. I asked my neighbors and no one seem to know. I called the polices to come and checked and they said, this car is not listed as stolen or any problem at all... so they left.
And on Thursday is a Sweep day, I dont want my house look messy and I dont want to call a police to town it away cuz pity of the owner. But I wonder why they parked here and not moving at all.
If this happen to you, what should you do? should you call the police again? or just let it stay there weeks and weeks?

How annoying to have the vehicle parked there and no one to move the thing! I would give it a few more days and then report it to the Police again. Is there anything that looks suspicious about it? I would definitely have a go at reporting it again; you could also try your local council if you have no joy with the cops.

Hello,
seem when my sister came over last time and she told me that was a car park here over night already, and if my neighbors then they never do that at all. well, the car is kind of old and nothing inside to look suspicious either... two more days will be a week now. If he/she won't move the car by tomorrow, he/she will get a ticket from sweep car... and I can't help with that. I will wait for another week and if no one show up, I will ask them to town it away

You haven't seen anyone with the car this whole week? Has it ever left it's spot. at all??? Leave a note on the windshield (drivers side) saying that if they don't contact you or move the car you will call the towing company. Don't feel bad about it--it's rude on their part to use your front street as a personal parking spot.
Have you looked into the car? Can you see anything that might give any hints to an owner or ID?
On a more morbid note...did anyone check the trunk?

I did left them a note but nothing happen and today is raining as well, so the note will wash off or something. Nothing in the car either... look empty in the car.
I didn't see anyone park the car there at all cuz I went home late and my sister who told me. My neighbors said to have it town away.

Yeah you should call the tow company--and don't feel guilty at all! IF this person is coming to their car and ignoring your notes and stuff, THEY are the rude ones. It is your right to have that car towed!

It would be wise to report it to the police or to the local council for proper disposal. Unfortunately the streets in front of our houses are not part of our property and we can not impose our personal rights. A little help from the local council may help. I agree, it is an ugly sight to have a car parked permanently in front of your residence.
enjoy

I know... i think I should call back next week if they dont move. I dont mind to let them park but this is way too long to dump his/her car here.

yes, u should need to call the local police again. i guess we need them to implement such action as we cannot move it on our own, if we are thinking of doing so. the owner of that car should one day come back for that and would inquire on its whereabouts. he will be notified where it is either by ur neighbors, urself or the police.

Well, if it's REALLY IN FRONT of your house, I think you'd better find out about the ownership of the related car, especially when it is very disturbing. If I were you, I would call the police and try my best to remove it so my house doesn't look messy. But it's not disturbing at all, I prefer sitting alone and doing nothing with that car, as the risk always exists and it's the car owner's not mine. =)

If this were me I'd call the police again. The car hasn't moved in a week. They know it isn't stolen, but it still is abandoned in front of your house. I would call it in again because they can run the plates and found out the owner of the car and contact them. If they don't move their car after the police called them, then they will tow it and the owner will need to get it out of storage.
I can understand why people need to leave a car, if it broke down or ran out of gas, but a week? This is just saying they aren't taking responsiblity for their own property. I would call the police again and let them deal with it. Honestly the less involvement you have in this the better. If you call the towing company and they store the vehicle until the owner shows up to claim it, the towing company might come after you to pay the towing fees.
I would call it in again to the police and let them handle it for you.

I know and I called again yesterday to find out who car was that and the police said, it registered to one of my neighbor there... I walked 5 houses front and back and side... no one seem to know. well, I will him/her another week to move but if not then I will call the police to take care of this matter.... they can't just dump their car right in front of my house like this... I need to clean up as well.

This happened to me a few years back when I used to live downtown in an apartment with just 1 assigned stall for parking. I asked around the neighborhood and nobody seemed to know who the car belongs to. I tried leaving a big message on the windshied and nothing happened. I later learned that it was indeed a stolen car. Amateur car thieves take cars and drive it around with their friends in the city. And just when the car is about to run out of gas, they park it on private stalls so that it wouldn't look conspicuous.
I later had the building manager call the towing company to take it out.

I hate to call a town truck cuz once they come back and can't find the car... they will pay more... lolz... this is should be a prize of leaving a car here. huh?

Here where I lived a car can only be parked in the same spot for a certain length of time. I know this because a neighbor had a few cars and would move them after a week to a different spot and we ask him why that is what he told us. If someone leaves a car on the street then the sweeper just goes around that car they do not like it but that is what they do.

I think I would call the police and tell them it is odd that no one has moved the car and no one has reported it stolen. I would wonder where the owner of the car is and why they don't miss it :) Good luck to you!

i know.... it is weird. I dont mind to park the car in front of my house but tomorrow is a sweep day and I dont want them to get a ticket, plus it will not left a mess in front of my house either. But here it is, stay here almost forever.

Hello it happened to me many times, but i never called the police, they make it more complicated usually, so i requested my watchman to sit there and tell the owner when he comes, not in rough voice but politely, lol believe me it worked..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always, cheers.
