Oh, that was so tiring. "Ondoy" leave the Philippines devastated, we also experienced the flood inside our house. The flood was nearly in our waistline, fortunately we had a second floor and we were able to rest upstairs for 8 hours. It was so frightened, and there's no electricity at all.Until now, everybody was in the midst of trauma of what Ondoy's had made. It's really hard to clean the mud most especially when it was already dried, that's why when the flood was gone that night of Saturday; we cleaned it immediately with water and soap.

I am one of those lucky victims per se since we were also hit by the floods but the damage was not that much. The water came in very fast and left very fast. We were living in a rather high place but still our place was the lowest in the area that is why when the strong rains came in plus the creek near ours overflowed we were the first to be hit by the rushing flood waters. But the water subsided within the day and we started cleaning our place the next day after the rains. It was also hard, but I could imagine in many places where the mud was really thick. Ours was just a thin layer and it was easier to clean because it was still wet when we started cleaning them down. The only thing we have to contend with is the smell, there seems to be some left especially the books that got soaked in and we are still drying them one by one the smell is rather bad also and it stays longer.
