are there how many kinds of banks in your country?

We have large "monster-mega-banks" that are for profit and treat their customers like cash cows, charging them fees whenever possible and even using special software that calculates how they can overdraw the account so that more fees can be charged. Then we have credit unions. These are like banks but they are owned by the depositors. Many of them give their members checks at the end of the year if they are showing a profit. They have lower interest rates than banks and offer a lot of free stuff like checking and saving. We also have small community banks that are customer friendly. I use the monster mega-bank only because I have to have direct deposit for my maintenance check. I do most of my banking with the credit union and all my savings are there.
