I don't know that I have a favorite...perhaps it is Etsy, because shows are so much work and preparation. For a show, I have to pack everything up, get up early, drive to a show, set-up and then spend 4-6 hours there...then breakdown, drive home, unload and put everything away.
Etsy can be done sitting in my pj's...take pictures, list, and promote. When an item sells- package it up, call the PO and schedule a pick-up...plus I have a 24 hour presence with my shop.
I have done shows that are great and shows that were a complete waste of time...the ones that were great are definitely worth the effort. The shows that were not great were a complete waste of time and money...at least with Etsy, a bad week or bad month, means there is always another day/week/month...with out having to spend very much money.
They both have their good points, but Etsy is the easier of the two and with all the possible places to promote online, I don't have to leave my computer & craft table to run my business (if I wanted to do it that way)

Personally I think unless you have enough product doing a Brick and Mortar store would be the hardest of the 2, and most people's best bet are to do either Etsy.com or Yardsell.com and if you want to do something locally do a couple of Crafter type events which are a lot less work, and usually money for sure. Personally I think you can be in control more when you are selective with what you do, and want to sell and usually your items will often look better as well.

Oh I do not think I could do an actual store, that is too risky in this economy any way.

I prefer brick and mortar, the customers can see the product. I make more money in a brick and mortar setting.
