where does it all go, does it just freeze, stop moving, what happens to it. why does the body go into rigor and get all cold. what about the blood flow heats the body?

that is interesting, but why?i know that the heart stops pumping, but what about that pumping keeps the body moist.

I think that the blood pools and coagulates. It is no longer being circulated so I think that your body temp drops and the arms and legs your extremites become stiff because the blood is not being circulated. I dont really know the scientific explanation though.

Hi Mama_bear,

First the blood separates into the solids and the fluids. If you were to puncture someone who had been dead what would come out would be watery (thus the reason the soldiers punctured the side of those crucified to test if they were dead yet-- if you got "water" instead of blood the person had died). Eventually,as the body decomposes(assuming no mortuary's involved)the fluids would evaporate.
