Prenups used to be important for stars and the superrich only. But with the number of divorces constantly increasing, has that changed?

If you own more than your partner before marriage (maybe a house?) or one of you earns more than the other - would you consider a prenuptial agreement? Would you accept one if your partner would ask?

Or do you feel it shows a lack of trust?

we are not really rich but we signed a prenup. I dont think that has to do with lack of trust. See first of all as much as you work on a marriage you never know whether it would really work out and you also never know how your partner reacts when divorce is filed.
We needed that prenup cause first of all I was to cut my working hours to 75%, thus reducing my old age pension considerably. My husband is disabled and cant work. So we set up a prenup stating that he does the household chores cause I am commuting 8 hours a day to work 6 hours and to keep my job in Public Service.

Then we also set up that if ever we are going to split up I am going to keep the money I brought into the marriage. Not because I am too selfish to share but because he did not bring much with him when we married. He brought his old furniture, old car older computer and his excellent craftsmanship ability. Even before we got married I paid for the engagement rings which later were our wedding bands. I paid for all the wallpaper, paint and new flooring necessary here in our first apartment as husband and wife and I also paid partly for his move into this place here.

I do agree. If one person brings in more than the other, it's only fair they keep it back in case things go wrong.
