How to grow snap peas?  | | I want to start growing snap peas in a container in my apartment. Has anyone else done this? Could you please explain to me the whole process? I am completely clueless when it comes to growing things!

| | 2. mariposaman (2491) | 1 month ago | You can grow peas in an apartment? These are cold weather crop that you usually plans early in the spring outside in the garden.
Are you planning on growing them under lights as there will probably not be enough light coming through your window to grow them successfully and your apartment might be too hot and dry for them as well.

"PEAS: These like to climb. Place a trellis in the pot with them and let them grow. Or simply let them fall over each other in a tangled mixture. (Dwarf varieties do not need staking.) When the flowers come on these do not need to be pollinated by you. They will take care of themselves. They prefer to stay away from heat vents. If you only want to nibble on a few fresh peas, plant only a 6-12 plants (one pot). If you want to cook up peas for dinner, you will need about 25-50 plants in three to four different pots. You can replant about once a month for a continuous crop all winter. Harvest in 8 weeks."

| | 3. deebomb (8948) | 1 month ago | I don't think you can grow snap peas inside because they have to be pollinated by an insect like bees or butterflies. I think they could be grown in a container but need to be out side. Try something like spinach, swiss chard or even tomatoes. These vegetables don't need pollinated.
