i have switched away from ebay and to another site that doesnt get the same amount of traffic in but cost a ton less and havent had much luck in getting my things sold. yeah im being impatient but compared i was selling a couple of things a week on ebay when i would sell on there to nothing in a month its getting irritating.. other than joining groups where people post what they are selling (which to me would only attract people posting not people wanting to buy) how else can i get my booth (stuff im selling) some attention for free? ive done a lot of free advertising routes in the past for making money type things but not for selling so that rules out almost everything i have used in the past.. any ideas? figured i would ask here before i take the hours in searching and posting everywhere since i have no spare time to even be on mylot normally anymore lol much less spare time to waste with dead ends and empty promises..

I use traffic exchanges to put my site out there. My favorite is HitsboosterPro - I think I have a banner on my page. But also another great way could be facebook. If you create a page for your site and send the link around to all your friends. (and constantly keep adding friends so that "the word" gets out to more people.. I wouldn't suggest Spamming them like crazy, but you can certainly invite them to join the page you create and then notify them via that of new items etc. Also there is a cool social networking site call WOZONE- the website owners zone. And that site is their for all webowners to post banners and links to their sites and get the word out. It's a great place - also have a banner for that on my profile page.. Good luck

i have never selled something on line yet.nowadays, shopping on line is very popular in our places,as the seller do not need to set up a real shop, the goods which for selling without tax and lower cost, because of this, the price is much lower.so the buyer's will be get the lower one good quality goods in here.most of the people spend their spare time to open a shop on line,so that they not only got the extra money but also own their own business.maybe one day, i will be try it,but now, i'm only a buyer. good luck and have a nice day!

ive always done well when i was on ebay and had it as a side thing to do to earn a few bucks.. go to yard sales and find things that had tags on them or in great condition for a dollar and turn around and sell it for more etc.. but this new site just doesnt seem to be getting the traffic which is annoying because i really like this site

I have never tried selling on an auction site yet, but I imagine I could give it a try. I would probably put up a page on my husband's and my personal writing site, either as a writing sales page, if we were selling our books, or as some other link, if I were to sell something besides our books. Funny you should ask, because we're attending a conference tomorrow night, on internet marketing. :)

That is the million dollar question I have been asking as well. Sigh... not likely to be able to find much good answers here! One of the ways you can try is to go to ebay. Put up the item for sale, but instead of setting up the item for sale, redirect the people to your new site instead. Is that legal in ebay TOS? Can find out more. Cos you already have a following in ebay. Your regular customers just do not know that you have shifted shop. That is all. The other way is to create awareness among the people who have bought from you before. Go thru your sold items record list. And then send them a notification of any items you may have that are related to the items they previously bought from you on ebay. Once they are aware of your shift from ebay to whatever site you are on now, word of mouth will do the rest.
