I have PLDT dsl 1mbps but my actual speed is just 512-614kbps. It really sucks. They're advertising the wrong speed. They should be filed a complaint against. But going on to your answer I think you just choose Pldt. You've got no choice for those other internet providers you mentioned also suck big time.

yes i was thinking Pldt also, but how about the Lagging(ung napuputol connection) do you experience it often, there are also times even yahoo fails to open. usually in the afternoon.

No I don't experience it here in my area. The speed is way below the advertised speed but it's consistent. Unlike globe and smart which frequently disconnects. If you're in to gaming then pldt is the right choice for you. It's just my opinion only taken from my experience with it.:)

i think all of the ISP's here in the Philippines has it's own glitches and problems, i don't think there's a best ISP around, it just all depends on your location or area. If your in the NCR, I still think the best option will be PLDT MyDSL, on our experiences here, including comments with friends, and relatives, PLDT DSL service is working fine, there are some problems but the support is not that bad, not immediately but definitely they will address issues you will report. We always check the speed via speedtest.net and mcafee online speedometer and It's accurate, i think it's worth a try.

i was really having second thought in buying a new ISP, but once i read your response, i think i am gonna go for pldt. But may i ask one more, so many people using pldt, will it not clogged/bottleneck the server,e.g. 100pldt users, 50 smart and 10 globe, that is why i went for globe,we are not that so many using globe dsl.

No I don't think there will be a clogged, there are alotted bandwidth in every subscriber, there are provisions ofcourse if there's a demand for bigger bandwidth and besides, these people will surely stop advertising if there's no more alotted bandwidth.

I am also disappointed with Globe Broadband too. Since Sept 26 I got disconnected with them and until today they have not restored the line the fact that there is no more flood in our area the next day. Our place is not really flood prone area but during the Ondoy flooding we were slightly affected too. My line was affected and till now they have not restored their services to us. I called their "call center" and they would always say there is an ongoing system enhancement going on in my area but I am not seeing any lineman in my area doing their "system enhancement". I am contemplating of disconnecting my line already because of these. I am currently scouting for an alternative like Smart Bro, PLDT MyDSL, or even Sun Broadband. But I am looking into feedbacks from current users how good the services are.

With regards to the speed I also observe that too but I think I am happy with that speed already as I can browse freely but with this kind of service right now I am deeply disappointed.

Hi guys, I am using BayanDSL here in Quezon city, the one where there is a promo of a a landline plus a 364 kbps line; this is the cheapest alternative for me.. As of now I have free burstable to 768 Kbps at certain times of the day for 2 years. I clock with speedtest.net too, at .72 Mbps up/.70 dn Mbps on average.. I run speedtest with no load ( no other open browser, nothing being downloaded in the background).. When I download a large file, download speed seems to be capped at 90 kbps.. But when I download 2 large files or more, I think I download at up to 110 kbps.. Of course this will depend on the sites you are downloading, but usually you will be able to reach the cap..

Thanks for your info, how much
is your monthly bill

ionsteeler (51)   ranked 3,501 out of 4,265 in philippines  1 month ago

1,200 pesos, for the DSL and basic phoneline, no add-on.. We've set up the phone for local calls only.. We use our cells for NDD, or our relatives call in for IDD.. I just learned they also have a limited service level agreement for downtime too.. 500 per day for DSL downtime and 100 pesos a day for phone downtime.. Lest I sound like an advertiser too much, check out their site at http://www.bayandsl.com/resi/index.html for more info.. Their main site is down as of this moment..

Ours is Globe DSL, but we did not get the phone line just the dsl connection only, so we were slashed from 1,299 monthly to only 1000/month coz we dont have the phone line. Anyway, we are three household that hooks up to this DSL connection, so our monthly fee is reduced to 335/month.

I think I have the same Globe broadband plan as you but I availed myself of the landline. If not for the landline (free unlimited NDD and local calls), I would have sticked with my 999 Smartbro. I really hate Globe because they do maintenance all the time. I think every month, i would have at least a day without internet just because of their maintenance. Smartbro wasn't as hard-to-deal-with. Since it's wireless, it's easier for them to reconnect me. Though it's hard to call smart's customer service, when I get a chance to forward them my concerns, they help right away. They even send people immediately and sometimes problem gets fixed on its own. Globe on the other hand has a 24/7 phone service but the people I talk with doesn't seem to know what to do. I think since Globe deals with cable lines, etc it's arder for them to fixed them than Smart which offers wireless connection. Given the chance, I'd really go back to Smart.
