I guess the weirdest name I've ever given to a pet would be Cookie. That was for my peach faced lovebird. I have no idea how that came about but it stuck. When I was younger, my siblings and I had chickens and my brother named one of them Rodent. He was a fast little bugger.

Lol...if only Cookie was that sweet. She was actually a pretty mean little lovebird most of the time. She wouldn't let anyone near her and you can tell because she would chirp at you nonstop. It wasn't even the nice sounding chirps either. Everyone basically knew not to mess with her. I think the only person she liked was my dad.

Hmmm...I guess the weirdest name I've ever named a pet was for my little love bird. Her name is Petite Minion...which roughly translate to 'Little Cutie' in french. We also have a black cat named Duncan, which if I remember correctly means Dark Knight. My sisters mini parrot is name Chaucher; after a character in the movie 'A Knights Tale.' All the other names are pretty simple; Goldie, Maggie, Sam, Sweet Pea, Molly

firstly i love the movie a knights tale and the role chaucher played in it which makes it a very commendable pet name i think. i was never invintive in naming my birds for some reason i always just called them bird kindof sad really. also i never knew duncan would have so much of a meaning i just thought it was one of those fairly common oldish names im glad i know that now ^_^!

When I was a kid we had a dog that we named "UNO". I have no idea where we got that name, but we had a lot of fun with it. Whenever anyone would asked what our dog's name was we would respond with "U-NO". Then they would say "No we don't know". Of course it would go around like that for a little bit and then we would finally say "The dogs name is U-NO!" WE always had a good laugh over it. He was a good dog though and one we will never forget simply because of the name we gave him.

yea my family tends to call the kittens terrorists because they feel the urge to knock things over and make a general mess which is quite terrorizing for us.

My son named our puppy Alvin, after the chipmonk because he though he was very spunky and was going to get yelled at a lot for his trouble making. AAALLLVVIIINNN!!! really did live up to his name, he is the most spunky, mischievous dog I have ever has and I have fallen deeply in love with him!!

i always find its best id an animals name fits them actually its the same way for humans i guess since your name is as big a part of you as your face really. my mom had a jack russel she named gidget because she was small and as any jack is extremely energetic she was a wonderful dog. also i find that most of the time distructive and trouble making pets can be the most fun aslong as they dont hurt anything important i have a kitten named ky whi knocks everything over and scatters papers everywhere and particularly will come running if he hears me typing to jump on the keyboard and mess up whatever im typing. hes so fun though!

I actually think all of our pets have had strange names. The first ones that come into my mind are the gold fish that we had when we were children. They were named Pete Rose and Chris Sabo, both after players on the Cincinnati Reds. Then we had my dog Fudge Brownie because my siblings refused to let me name him Fido. Now we have two dogs and both of them have human names we have Michela Mae Lynch-Winburn and Jasmine Lady Ariel Winburn (she came with the name Jasmine and my daughter added all of the rest of it to her name). Imagine my surprise when we got a reminder from the vet addressed to Jasmine Lady Ariel Winburn. I thought something had gone wrong, then my daughter informed me that she told the vet that was her name when I'd had her drop a fecal specimen into the vet's office while I waited in the car with her sleeping brother.

i think naming pets after people should be more common practice because it seems demeaning that they are given odd names ofcourse im totally guilty of the odd names so ill shut up about that now. i love that your daughter added the extra parts to the name its inventive and fun. my sons only 5 months old so hes not naming anybody anything odd yet but im shure that time will come sooner than i expect it to.
