Why does everyone assume I must be on Facebook?

These days I meet someone and chat to them for five minutes and they say "oh, I'll find you on Facebook"! Well, the won't because I'm not on there but it is also quite an assumption that I would want to "Friend" them and share a load of personal stuff after knowing them less than an hour. Also, I do not want to find other ex-pupils that went to my school or other people I knew ten years ago. If I wanted to see/talk to these people I would have kept in touch with them anyway. I understand things like Facebook are good for people you can't get to see - such as friends or relatives thousands of miles away, but not for people who live around the corner! Sheeesh.

I share your ideas about Face book. In fact I have suspended my account and people can see too much about yourself. It is true that it depends on how much you want to reveal about yourself. But even an innocent gesture, text or photo can be used against you later on in life. I don't like face book at all as it is a breach of your privacy.

I agree, im actually on facebook to keep in touch with family that do not live near by and it is quite good for trackin lost family down and i have! However some of the things that people seem to think are interesting on there is beyond me and i think that they need to get out a bit more! Another thing is that someone i knew was chatting to me on there the other day and i seen them in the street and they didnt say a word to me? i thought that this was a bit strange but i spose people must find it easier to interact in a virtual world!
