Common Cold Sore?

Canada

Can Herpes simplex, also known as the Common Cold sore, normally found on facial orifices, migrate or be found on other parts of the body! I am just past the infectious state of a very nasty cold! High fever, accompanied it! During the onset, I found a huge blister about the size of a quarter on the heel of my right hand, of course it broke! I thought possibly I had burnt myself when stoking the fire. Two days later, same type of blister on my left forearm! NOW, I am blessed with a huge one, right over my left eye! They have all the appearances (yuck!) of a cold sore, slow to heal...itchy, but painful! Is it possible they are cold sores, and have any you experienced this with a cold? Thanks, have been treating with Ozonol! Have a great weekend...all! Cheers!

Hello pergammano. I really don't know much about medical things, however it doesn't sound right to me. Have you been experiencing any swelling of any kind? Could be some kinda infection brought on by the high fever. Maybe you should consult with a doctor. Or you can even look it up online, with MD web. I hope you get to feeling better soon, and the problem you have now with the sores cease.

I would have said maybe a cyst or infected hair root, but not on the heel of your hand. I am puzzled, please see a doctor.

My two dear friends, whom which I hold so much regard, I am SUCH not a Dr. person. But as these things spread I do get concerned! Please understand, I DO NOT compromise my lifestyle...UNDER No circumstances could these be a bacterial infection, other than the fact.......I HOLD MY HEAD up high, I am one of the low-lifes....I clean the only neighborhood PUB on the Island. That is one part of my businesses...Maintenance, Landscaping, Cleaning...one has to do what one has to do at my age! Chey....what a sweetheart...Garden, always there, I am a little scared, and that is why I LOVE THE FRIENDS I have met here. YES4 hours later..admitted to Hosp. aBacterial Heart Infection. NOT Me....I would have waited it out! I feel so mch comfort having special friends in my heart! I will be OK

Oh sweet pergammano, I am not a doctor person either. Hell I haven't been to one in ummm 9 years now. However what you have doesn't seem normal or right, so a doctor would be your best bet. I would rather you be safe than sorry. As I am sure so many others feel the exact same way.

That is definitely a question for your doctor. I know that the herpes virus will lay dormant in your spinal column only to come out under stress. It may be that these sores need to be cultured out for determining if they are viral or bacterial. Are you prone to boils?

Hi pergammano! I hate to hear you have been sick. I haven't heard of a cold sore being anywhere but around the mouth area. I do know that a rash can be considered just another symptonm of a cold though. I hope that you get better very soon. Hugs.

Truly, thanks Jen, I am just po'd that I look after this old body of mine, and it;s NOT looking after me. These are UGLY innocuous lesions...but do NOT make me look very inviting. My persona has been stepped on....LOL! My, dearest & ONLY son came home last nite, and didn't notice, the lesion on my eyebrow...but I played Veronica Lake...(you won't remember her....you sweet neophyte) but she wore her hair, over one eye! I am sure he will notice today! What a strange offshoot to a cold. But a cold is a virus! YOU take care...HAVE a great weekend! HUGZ!

Hi Shirley, I know nothing about cold sores but you describe them as rather horrid supperating things so I hope you get rid of them quickly. I am only responding to say thank you very much indeed as I think you've passed your cold on, but it could have been Alice. I fear a Mylot bug is going round throwing out cold germs. Perastika, as we say over here. Hugs.

thea, I have this propensity to give things away, I don't really like...and am just NOT fond of colds, hence I passed it on! Surprised me that it made it's way to your house, as I thought I had sent it off to an aggravating neighbour! Cheers!

It's a very mild one, I expect it got diluted by the distance. I do hope yours have cleared up and your suppurating wounds are in retreat. Perhaps the Greek avatar sent those on to you, he usually has something nasty on the go.

I never have had any cold sores that I know of. I sure hope you get to feeling better! I especially hope the cold sore under your left eye gets better. I just hope it doesn't get any worse and effect your sight in any way. That sounds scary to me! I just hope the Ozonol does the trick. Hugs! Kathy.

I think that herplex simplex is highly contagious. So refrain from kissing the milkman otherwise you might get it again LOL I hope that you are a lot better now. Four months have passed since you have started this discussion. Have a great weekend.

Haven't experienced anything like that, my friend. But have you seen the doctor for them? If they keep on appearing, i think that you should go and see the doctor, so you'll know what causes them. I hope that you are well by this time. God Bless!
