Make Yourself At Home... Hum.. What do you mean by this???

Do I ever agree with you, sometimes I out of habit start to say it..
It isn't a good rule of thumb for me..

I agree with you also, I know that is weird sometimes I have caught myself saying how are you, thinking to hear them say Fine or Good, but them say, "not to good" then go into it and it be like Hum... Sadly I was elsewhere in my mind of the busy things I had to do, but you know something since myLot and reading, thinking, and replying I find myself more focused and alert to others. I think it should be more of a family thing too or close friend.

That is a very nice gesture, very Beautiful and I like the way you said it all and that the key word ask. When others come here I like them to feel compy too, I just have my own boundries. The guest slippers are nice too, do you have a big home or white carpet? Thank you for you great reply

hi friend you got to knw two things about me.... lol
first I was raised by my mom to ask when I want something and even if its only a pen or paper to note down something when I am in her room or when I want something to eat I have not bought myself so asking is natural for me before I take anything.
Its different with my husband though. He has three siblings and I will never forget when we visited his parents together for my second time in the relationship. He said hi mom then hi dad, walked straight in the kitchen opened the fridge and poured himself an orange drink. I stood there stunned, and just blurted out but you got to ask!!!! his mom heard and said no he wont have to ask cause this is his (childhood) home. LOL

Using slippers in the house is also something taught to me by mom, into the house the hallway and out of the outdoor shoes. I convinced my husband of that method cause you only need a cloth and clear water without chemicals to wash floors as its not dirt but only a bit of dust you find there. Plus the apartment is clean in only a fraction of time so you wont have to scrub like mad, even when you dont have white carpet. LOL. Plus our laminateflooring in the hallway and living room which was there when we moved in was not done professionally so its also good if we can sometimes just mop up with an antistatic cloth to catch the dustballs and not have to use water, cleaner and wet cloth everytime.

I am getting better at talking to mine.. I was raised like your husband,
but as we got older my mother is like I know you didn't?? For us "Her kids"
it is kinda ok, but our husbands better not.. Odd how people can differ
your mother seemed to be a smart woman, to me asking taeaches you to use
commucation skills to talk about something you need instead of the way we
was taught which was to throw a fit or pout to get it.. This is why I say
learning to talk to my husband. He was raised as you, if you want something
speak of it, and that is where he is with me. I sometimes, use to badly just
get mad that he didn't get me what I want or do what I want him to do.. Expecting that he was a mind reader So, in my opinion, you are very smart...

talking to my husband meanwhile when we have different viewpoints is a problem. He will then shut like a clam and not talk to me at all for as much as a week or so. Sigh.
I think asking is an act of respect towards the other person. I also ask my husband whether he can give me that pen or paper or whatever is on the computer desk he uses and I will not just go and grab it. Same as when we eat and for example there is the last slice of cheese I will ask him first whether he wants it or whether we share or I may have it.

Wow I am sorry it took sometime to get back to you, we have been painting, started walking, and made a few changes with our family life. I love your views and am sorry it is hard for talking to him. Mine use to be the same way for weeks, but I am thankful he will keep talking now. I am more of the one that bottles it up, and is stubborn. I wish I wasn't tho

Are you ever right, that is what I'd think too. My bed is like our, my husband and I's, sanctuary, it like we don't even like our kids there. His family, mom, brother, sis in law, all come in our room and plop down. We didn't even ever tell them to make themselves at home. They just did. Come right in drink out of the milk jug.. YUCK!!!
