I am reposting a link to a blog from a person who volunteered to repack the donated relief goods that was brought in from the international community for the victims of the two typhoons. I feel outraged and sad with her blog and feel that it should be reposted, as the blog's author requested. I found the link on one of those social networking sites.

For those living in the Philippines, we all know that the international aid was coursed through our DSWD or Department of Social Welfare and Development. They have even announced that a warehouse and that relief goods will not go through the regular customs check so that the goods will not be delayed. Please read the blogs, especially the one on the last link.

Not exactly gone with the wind jlamela, rather the other way around. The imported goods are just in the warehouse where it is not being distributed because according to our DSWD they cannot find enough volunteers to repack the said items.

The DSWD head has a lot of explaining to do because of this... oh my... this is why i don't trust the government anymore when it comes to international donations... and i hope these will just be given through ngo's or ABS CBN and GMA foundations... because for sure the relief goods will be given immediately to people who need them them most...

It should have been given or even a portion to non government organizations who can repack the goods and send it to the victims. We can see these foundations trying their best to get goods to areas that are very remote because they cover the areas as they report the news. As you have read in the blog, only the local commodities have been given out. So what happens to the camp beds? The imported canned goods?
Note to self: Will take note of the brand names of the imported goods. So that if I see them on store shelves, I know who sent it and what it was for.

hello anne,
Are these goods coming from all across the world? and they said they're running out of relief and material goods!
for christ sakes! they should make an announcement that they need more volunteers! and not letting others finding about this. not all of those foods will last forever you know, unless they wanted it for themselves. they'd better explain themselves, and media should be inform of this, the storm isn't as bad as it used so they'd better send the damn box!
