I'm from Arkansas. I haven't really gotten involved with American Idol until Kris Allen made the Top 24. He grew up just around the corner from some of my best friends. He is a year older than my son. A huge majority of Central Arkansas is very proud of our hometown boy!
The new album is scheduled to drop on my birthday (Nov, 17) and the first single was released a couple of weeks ago. I love the song, but until this morning had never sat down and looked at the words to "Live like We're Dyin".
The song talks about coming to the end of your life and not having any regrets. I love the second half of the chorus which says:
We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we’re dying
A couple of years ago, one of my son's friends died at the age of 16 when his heart just gave out due to a birth defect. He'd had a heart transplant, when he was 8 and it just couldn't keep up with all his health problems.
All the young men from that point on, never left each other or hung up the phone without hugging all the girls, and then guy hugging each other and saying "I love you man!" Although they did it very macho and manly, their sentiments were true to heart.
James said, I don't want something to happen to me or one of them without them knowing how much they mean to me!
So what is your opinion? Should we try to remember every sing day that our days on this earth are numbered?

That looks like a great song and very true. We never know the day or time when God is calling. I look forward to hearing this song. I don't listen to the radio a lot mostly in the car. I will start now though and I hope I hear this song soon.

You know, come to think of it, I haven't heard it on the radio. I'm sure it has been, but since I'm not in the car often and when I'm home I either have a cd in or listening to internet radio; I just haven't been at the right place at the right time.
I'm a member of his mailing list, so as soon as it was released I was able to get on the website (Krisallenofficial.com NOT A REFERRAL SITE) and download it!

Did you get registered for his e-mail alerts? I got one this afternoon that said that the first 1,000 people who preordered his new cd from the website were going to get a free 11X14 signed lithograph. My girls went and ordered it, but I don't know if they were one of the first 1,000 or not!

There is a valuable message in that song. To live each as if it were your last and make it a masterpiece may not be practical every single day of our lives but to always have the idea on the back of our minds and to make the most of every minute and not keep putting off what is important to us would be the most valuable lesson. That along with appreciating our loved ones.

I do agree that we should live everyday as if it is our last day.We are not promised tomorrow. I think if more people thought this way, then this world would be a better place to live.

Can you even imagine what the world would be like if every single person on this earth treated their family, their friends, and even total strangers like this was their last day of life? What frustrates me, even about myself sometimes, is that it very well could be. All you have to do is pick up the obituary section of the newspaper to realize this!

Sorry but I believe what you are saying is just hypocrisy. I mean ok, everything sounds very nice, we should live the pretend, don't think about the future, do everything that comes up to our minds and so on..
But when you come back to the real world, you realize that doing that is just impossible. You would be lying if you ever tell me that you live like you are saying we should live, even a day of your life. I'm not blaming you, but the world we live on.

So you're telling me that no one in this world can live a good life and treat everyone with respect and do the right thing?
I have to disagree with you and I really resent your telling me that what I'm saying is hypocrisy. See, I live by a code that my mother taught me as a child...to treat everyone around me as I would want to be treated.
I realize that you are entitled to your opinions, but just please be careful about throwing accusations around. I do think about the future: and I don't think that's living in a pretend world. I think about what I do and what I say before I do it, or say it.
Any big decision that I make, I stop and think about what kind of impact it will have, not only on me, but those around me. Will it hurt my friends, my family, my Christian Testimony?
I am not a liar. This is the way I live, and I truly believe that there are many others like me out there.
