I have utilized online banking for several years. I have never had a problem. However, a prudent person should use some level of precaution with any online transaction. Do not store passwords on your computer. Change passwords on a regular basis. Use passwords that are not related to your birthday, anniversary, name, etc. Security questions should be given a nonsense answer that you will remember. For example, 'What is your mother's maiden name?' can be searched on the internet very easily. When signing up for an account do not use the correct answer like 'Smith'. Instead, use a nonsense answer like 'Bandersnatch' that you will remember but a hacker will not be able to find. Do not respond to unrequested emails from a financial institution. If in doubt, call the company and see if the email is actually from them. It is easy to send an email with a header that makes it look like it came from your bank.

I have been doing my banking online for a very long time now, almost as long as it has become available to me. I have never experienced a problem or any concerns with doing it this way. I find the convenience of paying bills and transferring money between accounts very convenient and will continue to do so until something even better comes along.
