Going to an Advanced Screening of "This Is It" Tonight - 10/27/09!!

I am so excited! I got tickets to an advanced screening of "This Is It", the new Michael Jackson film for tonight October 27, 2009! This is supposedly a concert film that documents Michael Jackson's rehearsals for his canceled concert series of the same name, both on stage and behind the scenes. As you all know the concert of the same name was canceled due to Michael Jackson's premature death at age 50 on June 25, 2009 from cardiac arrest.

Anyhow, I am so excited - we are going in about 1 hour! The best part is that the tickets were free! I got them from the newspaper that we subscribe to. We requested them and were lucky enough to get tickets for two!

Two weeks ago I got my first advance screener to "The Stepfather". I was hoping to get to see more of the advance screenings and I did for this movie! I am so happy to be able to go to the movies for free!!

I get so excited to go to the movies and to get a freebie so this combination makes my day! I just wish they offered these screeners for Friday nights but I really don't mind as they didn't cost me a penny! It will be a late night for us as the movie starts at 9:30 pm but it is worth it to be able to see this film in theaters. I know it will be packed there tonight as Michael Jackson was a favorite for so many people.

That is amazing that you got those tickets. I keep hearing reports on the news that movie theaters were completely sold out in advance. They kept saying the only way to get tickets was to win them from some radio station or something. I hope you have a good time. I'm not interested in Michael Jackson, but I certainly know about this documentary, and how special it is supposed to be.

I just got back from it and it was an absolutely awesome film! It was like seeing the final Michael Jackson concert. I hope they will release it on DVD soon. I can't see why they wouldn't. I am glad we got the tickets too as we really wanted to see it and are so broke right now that we could not really afford to buy the tickets. *Thanks for your comment and have a great day!*

I'm so happy for you I hope you enjoy it. I have tickets for November 2nd and I too can't wait. Please let me know how it was. I fyou like it and was it as good as you thought it was going to be or even better. I know I will have to take tissues with me because I'm sure I'm going to cry all due to what we have lost.

It was absolutely amazing! I would recommend it to anyone. I wonder if all the tickets are already sold out? My teenage son wants to see it and I only had tickets for 2 people.

I definitely think they will come out with a DVD for this, I can see it being one. It was like seeing his final concert. It was almost like he was there in front of us.

I can tell you one thing, don't leave when the credits start rolling. There is a little tidbit at the end...

Your welcome! I'm going to look and see if I can get tickets for me and my son. I heard that they are also thinking of extending the 2 week engagement to a longer amount of time now too. I think that is based on the turnout so far in theaters.

I was sure that was going to happen because two weeks is just not long enough. Not to mention I'm sure they the producers want to make the most money from this since they lost so much money of what would have been if Michael hadn't died.

I'm looking forward to see it when it gets to my theater. I just don't know with whom cause my friends don't like MJ much and those who do are out of town:(
