i think that is very true.. we dont have that many public colleges/universities - well, not enough to cater to the current needs - and furthermore, the entrance requirements are very high, and not easy.. and this leads to the growing number of private colleges/universities.. but these places normally put a very high price for their tuition fees.. and yet, again because the 'supply' still cannot cater the 'demand' - people who want to get 'higher education' will still find ways to pay the pricey fees.. we do have 'strict' regulations and laws set up for these private institutions, to ensure that they really provide the 'proper' education - but unfortunately we do hear of place caught not abiding the rules.. worst yet, we've also heard of institutions that would just 'sell' their degrees to the students..

yeah it's true that education has become completely commercial. If we see the school and college buildings they are permitted in the middle of the shopping complexes. Actually that's not the climate of education to be provided....but who is caring none is objecting all of them are going and joining in the same schools and colleges. One should come forward in this aspect. Even the staff they have doesn't have much experience. Just everything is money, money, money..........

Ya some colleges are in societies and tht`s not the true enviorment for college and education...And ya everyone are concentrating on money, money and money...This is the worst thing and we all people should raise voice against this system...

Education can be more valuable than working. A person that goes to university can get great qualifications. They might leave school at 16 years old and then go to a further education college until age 18. Then they could go to university until they are age 21 years old. Then they would get a career in business. All that time studying would have given him or her wonderful qualifications. Education these days is business.

Hi Drsunny, it's not a new thing actually. In the UK there has been public school education for hundreds of years by which the rich pay for their children's education rather than using the state system. They have a reputation of providing a better and more elite education and were once the province of the very rich. These days this trend has changed somewhat as more public schools have opened on the presumption that a paid for education is better but it all comes down to the level of intelligence of the entrants and the quality of teaching.

Government left education and health to the mercy of private business people. Majority people do not work efficiently in government organizations--be it hospitals or schools or colleges. So, privatization is preferred by many. We are all paying for it.Those students who are not good at studies but are the wards of rich persons,(like politicians, wealthy farmers, successful professionals and above all corrupt Govt servants minting money through bribes ) will flock to these colleges with what ever money the College.

Yeah, nowadays, all things have changed in such a so called society. It is obviously that education is an important part of our life. However, what the only thing the school want is just money. Yes, all schools are becoming companies full of business and trade winds. Now, more and more students and parents have realized it is useless to study and they may tend to start their own career other than education. Happy myLotting!

Yes it is just like everything has become. Money has become our pollution, our downfall, our power as well as our weakness, our means of survival, our road to happiness, our path to greed, and everything else in between. It really is sad.
