How Do I Prepare My Strawberry Plants For Winter?  | |  I planted some strawberry plants two years ago. The first year I just let them go so they would get stronger and this past summer we had a lot of strawberries. It was awesome.
Now the summer is over, we have had a couple of frosts already and I am wondering if there is something I should be doing before we get snow?

| | | | | | 1.  peavey (3776) | 1 month ago |  Strawberry plants are very hardy. I live in northern Colorado and it gets pretty cold here and I don't do anything to my strawberries. The leaves stay green almost all winter. If you want to do something, just pile a little mulch loosely around them.

 WebMann (2766) | 1 month ago | We have our strawberries in a raised bed. Last year we did absolutely nothing to them for the winter and we had a great harvest of strawberries. I was just wondering if we had lucked out or if they really were that hardy.
Our strawberry plants have changed from green leaves to red leaves.
