I haven't dressed up for Halloween in a long time. We've been invited to some halloween parties where a costume is "required". I have no idea what I'm going to dress up as. I really don't want to go to party city and spend a fortune on a costume. I'm thinking about hitting up some thrift stores to try to figure out a good homemade costume.

Are you all dressing up for Halloween? If so what are you dressing up as?

Well, I don't ever remember dressing up for Halloween EVER, I've had some ideas but I never get to put them into effect. In the end, we'll only wear the costume once every Halloween, so what's the point in buying one? I always figured that it would be best to throw on some old clothes and make it look like something scary. That way we don't have to spend money on all those expensive things . . .

I completely agree. That's why IF I do go buy something it will be something cheap at a thrift store. I'm talking like$2-3 cheap. I've heard of people spending tons and tons of money on their costumes. I just don't get it.

Yes, people do seem to spend money on silly things nowadays, don't you think? The commercials are messing with our minds; apparently we have to dress up as a fictional something to have a good time on a holiday. And lot's of people fall for it, and they buy those expensive costumes, and they let the company eat away at their money . . .
People should be more careful of what they spend their money on, don't you think so?

I haven't dressed up since I was about 13 years old and really don't have any plans to as I don't visit anyone for Halloween. I'm never invited to parties or anything so I'd rather save my money and not dress up even though I'd really love to! I miss dressing up. It's such a fun thing to do to be someone else for the night.

I've never dressed up for A halloween party, not once. But there were times when i tagged along with my nieces and nephews when they went trick-or-treating. It's fun being with those "crowd", i get lots of freebies too! :)
And a fun way to relieve stress once in a while.

I havent dressed up in awhile and I dont have children so I dont celebrate Halloween like I did when I was a kid. Im normally working on Halloween so I sleep in he afternoon and work all night. Such as this year, I will be working nights so I have classes during the day then sleeping during the afternoon and working at night. I would def look at thrift stores and see what you can find there. I know other stores have costumes rather overpriced. Why spend so much money on a costume your wearing once.

Well, I won't be dressing up this year but I used to dress up every year when I was a bartender at my last job. One year I went as minnie mouse which was a really inexpensive costume. I just wore black leggings with a short red polka dot skirt I found at the thrift store in the young adult section. I wore a black t-shirt, white gloves and a polka dot bow in my hair. Oh, and the mickey mouse ears I also found at the thrift shop. Another inexpensive costume is the old standby...the witch. The cape and broom and hat are all things you can find at the thrift store. Another easy one is a scarecrow. Just wear some overalls or just jeans and a plaid shirt. Throw on a straw hat and get some straw and have it coming out of your sleeves and pant legs etc. Have a great time at the party and hope these suggestions help a little bit.happy

Me and my three other roommates are having a huge party at my college campus. It should be a legitimate huge party. We have decorations, black lights, 2 kegs, jungle juice, and it should be awesome. I'm dressing up as Teen Wolf. Halloween is always the craziest party of the year and it should be crazy to see everyone here.
