You don't have to be the Light...but you can be a "Spark"

This discussion reminds me of a song and prayer that we have in La Salle. It's called the "One La Salle Prayer".

Let me be the change I want to see
To do with strength and wisdom
All that needs to be done
And become the hope that I can be

Set me free from my fears and hesitations
Grant me courage and humility
Fill me with spirit to face the challenge
And start the change we long to see

Even if I'm not the light
I CAN BE THE SPARK
In faith, service, and communion
Let us start the change we want to see
The change that begins in me

I do believe that everything starts with us. We have to change ourselves before we can change others. Volunteering in such situations, you can't help but feel really blessed. Discontent is pushed to the side when you see them struggling to regain their lives after what happened. It doesn't hurt to be a blessing to others. Continue that spirit of volunteerism and spread the love

You've heard of the expression that when you give alms, you shouldn't "let your left hand know what your right is doing". Well, there are some people out there who violate this guideline to such a degree that it's highly questionable whether they're generous at all. Indeed, some "philanthropists" couldn't care less about people or the causes they give to. They seem to be interested in only one thing - getting the credit.

R.D and I both donate a lot of time to the children in our area we like to spend time with the abused children around this area. I have to say that when you get to spend time with the kid's it may not be a lot but it make's them happy and that can make your whole week. It also make's the kid's feel better knowing that someone care's.
