OOOOOOh its almost that time again, lol.

How big of a dinner do you cook?
Who helps you cook, if anyone?
&& What desserts do you make?

My mom normally does the cooking, but one year, I did it all by myself, with her instructions over the phone of course, because she had to work. We normally cook turkey, green bean cassarole, dressing, and normally thats it! Believe me, its enough. We haven't baked any desserts except for one year, we did pecan pie! I want to make sweet potato pie this year!

Wow! It definitely sounds yummy to me! lol. That's about how many people my mom and I cook for. There's only 6 people in the family - immediate family - right now, but last year, we had a bunch because we went to my Aunt's house for thanksgiving! I never did like cranberry when I was younger, but OH how tastes change lol. TY so much for responding

Oh I am so thankful this year that I have off from cooking for the first time in 5 years. I will help my mother cook as again there will be almost 30 people and only 4 of them kids. I am doing the munchies which are my favorite to make though I guess I will have to make my Irish Cream as well since I was told my uncle won't come if I don't.

Wow! 30 people is ALOT of people! lol. I love big families, and Irish Cream sounds good, though I've never had it. Especially sounds good seeing as if you don't do it, your own uncle won't come! lol. It must be better than the turkey and dresssing and such? lol

Nah he's just a drunk! (kidding) Our family has a long tradition of making booze. It has become a holiday tradition to see who makes the best strongest or most unique. One day we will need to open our own place because although good with the cream liqueurs I am not even in the running when it comes to my cousins brandies (Carmel apple last year yum!)

Yes we are a big group but that's what makes it so much fun, and for many of us (we live in multiple states) it is the only time we see many of our relations.

I usually help my mom out when cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. It is fun and I have learned to cook turkey from watching her. The only exception is when I was in college and cooked a Thanksgiving turkey with my football buddies. We took a coat hanger and ran it through the middle of the turkey and dipped it into a deep fryer. It was so juicy and so fattening. If you've never had deep fried turkey I suggest you try it sometime.

We do have a big Thanksgiving dinner with lots of mashed potatoes, buttered biscuits, gravy, cranberry sauce, etc..........I love cranberry sauce. It's my favorite Thanksgiving side dish. For desert we usually make apple pie and pumpkin pie. I like prefer pumpkin pie, however, during this time of year.

YES!!! I cant wait for thanksgiving. I have always cooked my own dinners...well since I moved out and had children that is. I make a turkey.of course...home made mashed potatos, cranberry sause, stuffing, corn, gravey, biscuts, and pumpkin pie. Im usually the one who does all the cooking but my husband and kids do help. My husband always helps me with the turkey, we season it, put butter on it, and put it in a roaster bag thing. My boys like to help me mash potatos and stir things like corn and stuffing. (Just so you know my mouth is watering now..LOL!) Its a great time cooking with the family. I usually have me, my husband, our two boys, my dad and brother, and a friend and his mom and dad all over for dinner. I must make alot of food cuz between all 9 of us we dont ever eat it all that day.
