I can sympathize with you, you have a migraine. What I do when it gets this bad is lay down in a dark room with an ice pack at the base of my skull and on my neck. It cools down the blood going into my brain and helps slow down the beating and pain. It isn't serious, but can be brought on by many different things. Stress, foods, odors, tension and so much more. I have suffered from them for the past 25 years and I can state that they aren't too much fun.

One thing you do need to keep doing is hydrating your body. Drink lots of water. There are two reasons. First you would have a tendency to dehydrate because of feeling so awful that you aren't eating or drinking. Secondly, (this sounds terrible) is if the migraine gets worse you may vomit. If you don't have anything in your stomach you get the dry heaves and it sounds like you're stepping on frogs. Also it hurts more to have the dry heaves. Plus the heaves last longer if you don't have anything in your stomach. If you're able to throw up anything then it will help alleviate the pain and as soon as you throw up something the urge to vomit will pass. For me it also will help the migraine pass too.

You can take various medications for migraines, including asparin, tylenol etc. But you need to find the one that works the best for you. If you consume a lot of caffeine you will need to reduce the consumption, this includes chocolate, coffee, tea and dark colored sodas such as Coke. Also you will need to see what foods might trigger the headaches...You should check migraines on the net to see what you need to do to avoid getting another one.

Hope I've helped you some...My heart goes out to you because there is no pain like a migraine...and I have had more than my share of them. In fact when I was getting diagnosed I had to be driven to the doctor while I had one. Talk about misery! I threw up the whole trip, and when my stomach was empty I had the dry heaves. ICK! Take care of you, and try the ice packs. It really helps mine, there even have been times that I have slept on the ice packs all night.
