When the advent of internet, is has become easier for people to communicate, when I was in high school I used to send letter and cards and receive them in return but it has been ages since I received. What about you? do you still send letters or cards through post or courier? or this time of communication is considered a dying industry? Share your thoughts...

Yes i still send cards and letters especially for those who cannot access the net--my old relatives. They loved receiving something from me--so i make personalized card and write some notes for them to keep in touch and let them feel how i miss and love them.

Its good to hear, no amount of email can replace the feeling of receiving a personalized card or letter. Thanks for sharing and my apologies for not replying soon, I guess I've been busy posting on other members discussions that i forgot about those that I started. Cheers!

I still send birthday cards and holiday cards to friends and family. I think it is more personal and thoughtful to spend the time picking out a card or writing well wishes to someone in your own handwriting. Letters, on the other hand....I haven't sent a letter in many years. I use the phone mostly for keeping up with people that aren't internet users or if I need to discuss something serious or personal that wouldn't come across well in an email. Many of the older generation that have not learned to use computers, or just don't want to be online need to be remembered with cards and letters and phone calls. I think we sometimes forget that not every one in the world can receive an email or text message so we must respect that and although it may be more time consuming, we should communicate with them at their level.

Yes, in spite of the internet's convenience and availability, there are still people who have no access to it. besides, sending a personalized letter or email is a good way to remind someone that we care and we still remember them. Thanks for sharing and sorry for not having to respond to this discussion sooner. Cheers!

Yes, I still send letters and cards through the post. I usually send letters to my penpals abroad and cards too. I send cards to relatives during special occasions. Even if these people are with internet connections we still send each other personal letters and cards. And we track our letters through e-mails because sometimes letters can be stolen especially if it's bulky as if the people in-charge thinks there's something valuable inside. Nothing beats personal letters and cards even in this hi-tech age.

Yes agree that nothing beats personalized letters and cards since we are all aware the trouble of getting those cards to our loved ones. And you can't really compare your happiness when you received a letter or card in the mail against those that you receive on line. Thanks for sharing and my apologies for the late reply i guess I've been busy posting to other members discussions that I've forgotten to reply to those who posted in my own discussions. Cheers!
