 Do you treat your child the way your mother treated you? Why or why not?
I am not treating my child the way my mother treated me. My grandmother raised me and my sisters. I am treating my child how I would have wanted to be treated when I was younger. It is really hard when you do not have a role model to learn from as an example. I really do not know how to be a mother because I was never taught, but by the grace of God I am learning everyday. The only instruction I have to go by is the bible, because most people will tell you what they did to raise their child. Every child is different and come from different situations and homes. There is no one way to raise a child, everyday is a learning process.

The relationship between the mother and daughter
would be always good and also the parents as a mother has
more responsibility on their kids to have the good life and
good thoughts for the kids. So as a parents we should give the deep
love to the kids in order to make them more happy and also they are
with us more attachments. When the kids are loved with us, then it would
accept all the good things from us very easily and also I am sure that
the son or daughter would be good kids in the society as well as to the
parents.

| 2. Jennlk84 (2271) | 1 month ago |  I'm actually not a parent yet, but I will chime in here. I think that once I do have a child that I will use a lot of the techniques my parents used to raise me. I really want my child and I to have a relationship like my mom and I do. I admire her for how well she and my father raised me. There will of course be things I do differently, but still...I think my parents did a great job of raising me and I will certainly follow in their footsteps at least part of the way.

So I think it is a little cruel to refuse kid's wants,while at the same time,we should not deny their wishes in a sharp way which would hurt their little hearts. | |

My spouse and I have always included the kids in family decision making since they were little. I think it's important that they be a part and have an opinion. My parents did that to some extent but not like we do. Our kids are encourage, even now that they are grown, to voice their opinions for or against things that involve the family. The rule is you must be respectful. If you are angry or disrespectful then you loose your vote or right to an opinion on that topic. It doesn't always work - but it does help. Manners are another big topic - in our house you must use good manners. They are free and there is no reason not to employ them.

I dont know how the feeling of having mother because until now im already 23 my mom still overseas. She just come back home 2 times in 1 year. Anyway now im already a mother of 2. Even i not experience having a mom.. Im also lucky because my dad give me more than i need. My father become my mom and dad as well. So from my age of 1 year old until im 19 my father take care of me. Teach me to become good human being. Now i also teach to my kids what my i get from my father. | |

| 7. xannebull (1308) | 4 weeks ago |  It's different now, my mother raised me in a strict manner, that all of the things she wanted me to do must be done by me or else, she would get mad at me and sometimes hit me if i didn't follow her. I do not raise my daughter like my mother raised me because i know the feelings of it, because of that, we are not close with each other, i am not comfortable every time she's around and i don't want to happen that to my daughter, i wanted to be so close with my daughter that she could tell anything to me.
