I locked my car key inside the car today

I've done this. Not only is it frustrating, but it makes you feel like a total idiot too! lol I'm glad that you got your keys back. Now you have 2. Keep one in your purse or in a safe spot outside the car. That way you don't have to buy another access key!

I carry a spare key in my wallet in case it should ever happen to me. Also, you really shouldn't be talking on the phone while driving.

In fact, you can call a pliceman to solve the problem.

I Have done that before. When meeting such a bad situation, I often call the non-emergency police number and they will send a unit out to help me. Usually, they have all sorts of tools, from a sophisticated slim jim, to a bent coat hanger. On some newer cars, they have something to protect against slim jims, so you and the officer may have to brainstorm solutions if you meet such a situation next time(I hope not)

LOL that actually happend to my parents a few weeks ago when we went out to eat. She had to call AAA to get them to open the door. Luckly thats never happend to me before even though thats one of my biggest fears is that ill lock my self out of the car forgetting to take the keys out because im in a rush for something.

I have managed to do this a number of times.It is a terrible experience when you have to run all the way home and back again with the spare keys. The worst feeling is when you have just locked yourself out and can see the keys dangling from the ignition! You feel like breaking the window and taking them out. It is even more frustrating when you have to ask someone else to bring them for you and he or she refuses. Anyway, nowadays I always keep the spares handy.In fact I had thought of carrying the spares as well at one point of them when I was absent minded for quite a while.

I have done this before, you feel like a bit of an idiot when you do it. Its pretty easy to get distracted and not realise you have done it. I locked my keys in my car during my lunch hour. I parked in the town centre multi storey car park, went off and did my shopping. I came back to the car only to realise that the keys were in the car, my husband had to drive home in his car and get me the spare set - my boss wasn't happy when I got back so late!

I can't relate with you, I've never done that, but at least you got everyting sorted out!:D

Hi clorissa, you must have been so frustrated standing there in the rain and seeing your key just beyond reach, but so lucky that you had your mobile in your hand to seek help. It is outrageous though that you paid all that money for a an access key especially if you did have a coat hanger on the back seat. When I did that I simply got someone to get inside the car with a coat hanger, if it happens again you can just ask your father to drive over with a coathanger as it's far cheaper than paying for a key. I think you were ripped off my dear.

Well, that something that I don't like to happened to me moreover if its happened in the time that we need to rush.
I always have my spare keys at home in my drawer.
Fortunately, you find the way to get the new keys at the dealer.
I didn't know about that before this.

Well, this happened to me at least twice. I was almost forced to smash my car window that time. Fortunately, there were people who are very helpful. They tried use a wire and hook the lock switch up. The other time, the gas station worker slip a rule into the side window lining and successfully nudge the switch until it's unlocked. I was so grateful to them. Finally I followed my father suggestion, to keep a spare key in my wallet. This helped me a few times later on, where I accidentally locked the key inside again.
