Two guys from Wisconsin decide they'd sat on their outrage long enough. After decades of watching others make money on what they consider their invention, they decided to take action. The two claim to have invented bottled water, and decided to take Pepsi Company to court, suing for $1.26 billion... When their day in court arrived, Pepsico was a no show. The two moved for a default judgement, to which the judge agreed. It turns out that Pepsico didn't show up because they didn't know anything about the suit. Apparently the document informing Pepsico of the suit went to the law firm that represents them. The letter was read by a legal secretary, but she was busy on other things at the time and forgot all about it. And I thought I was having a bad day! :~D : http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/top-stocks/blog.aspx?post=1343570&_blg=1,1340412

ROFL!!!!!!!!!! Wow! I would love to be a fly on the wall at that law firm when this was discovered. I am going to assume the Pepsi will try to apeal on this basis, but it doesn't seem likely that it will be accepted as a reason for appeal. Looks like a couple folks in Wisconsin just got a little richer.
