Do you ever feel that some people do not listen?

I feel that way a lot of times.
I've started just sort of disappearing and not saying a word to any one.
'Course there is only my hubby and he has his head in the TV 24/7 and he won't even eat without me to fix it.
If you'll just stay quiet and stay out of the main stream of events, people around you will start wondering where you are.
It works for me most times.
Shoot! I went to town yesterday and hubby didn't even know I'd been gone----
Just have to be yourself and forget trying to talk to anybody but mylotters.

dear jugsjugs,
why do you talk to them while they are doing other things? you need to sit down with them and talk when it is only to you their attention will be focused.

jugsjugs one of my friends calls it selective hearing and I believe she is right. My roommate is a bit deaf but damned if
she does not hear you when you really say something you did not
want heard. the care giver came in to give her her pills and I said to him, she is sleeping,really quiet, and she naps a lot, and she piped up to him. I was not asleep, I just had my eyes closed. okay so sometimes she can hear. he he. I talked for five minutes to a friend downstairs as she was reading a magazine, and then she looked up,oh were you talking to me? duh! I spent five minutes explaining about my swollen legs to my son, and he turned around, and said, did you know your foot looks swollen? help me God why do people not listen to us when we talk?

...the only people i know that i got problem with is my parents, everytime i pay a visit their place and make my point to certain discussion it seems they only hear it but not listening, they reply me with other issue....

Indeed, that is so true! I think alot of adults in everyday life just take it for granted they know what your are going to say or what you mean and so they don't listen to you. With kids they are sick to death of it all and until they turn about 25 they don't even begin to 'get it' and after that it is too late anyway!

yes! I agree on you jugsjugs some people do not listen it is because they dont want to listen. They only hear what they want to hear, especially those people that are not open minded.

Yes, some people only hear what they want to hear and pay no attention to anything contrary.

Oh how I can relate! My mother has been a ‘non listener’ all my life and she is no different today. My husband has become very clever with it, he pretends to listen and says, “Uhmmm...Yes...Right...” But when it comes right down to it he has not heard a word I said; when I get his attention he apologises profusely but I think it’s just because I caught him out.

Personally I find not being listened to very rude and insulting, it is one my major pet hates!

oh,i know some people don't.
i'll tell my family to clean after themselves and they never do.
i mean,you spill something,take a rag and clean it up,don't leave it there!

Let me rephrase the question, "Do some people ever feel that you don't listen?" hahaha, Yes they do haha. I am usually a good lisener but sometimes, when I'm not interested, I am really not interested hahaha
