After bringing a my very happy little one to the mall for trick or treating and rides I stopped in at Albertsons Supermarket on Montgomery Ave. in Albuquerque, NM, where the employees were dressed up. I think this this is great - only one of the cashiers had a kick me sign on her back, a dunce cap - and she said - to my bespectacled face, she did have glasses - but they were too heavy. Yep, be an evil creep who picks on others at school and then make fun of making fun when you're "grown up" at your place of work. Way to go Albertsons! Good choice in your employees.

I think that most of the costumes that I have seen for women this last year were extremely tacky. I could not buy a costume at Party City this last year because I was so disgusted with the choices of costumes that they had for women, so I boycotted Party City this last year and I made my own costume out of things I found at the .99 Store, Ross, and Wal*Mart. What was I for Halloween? Gwen Tennyson from "Ben 10: Alien Force" Season 1. This costume came out great and it was very tasteful. I worked very hard on it, right down to my hair.
I know how you feel about the tacky Halloween costumes because I have seen WAY too many, and when you live in California like I do, it is bad! I swear, it seemed like every women wanted to wear a sexy costume for Halloween this year, and I felt bad for my nieces because their mother did not want them to celebrate Halloween because she could not find appropriate costumes for them. I told people this whole Halloween to make their own costumes. It is economical and you can you what you want instead of getting the tacky store costumes.
Those employees should have known better than to wear costumes like that. You have to be so careful when it comes to certain costumes you wear because people will easily get offended.

I don't think that you are too easily offended, there are just some costumes out there that are so bad, they have to be called out. There are some costumes that are awesome, but there are some costumes that are just naturally bad.

Thanks for that :) I guess mostly I'm still suprised it was allowed in a public forum by someone - the cashier - in customer service.

Well, you have to remember that the cream of the crop does not work at the grocery store or at any of the other service industry type places. And some people think that is funny, but I don't. I was that picked on kid in High school. Costumes this year were out of control. Either too short and revealing or in bad taste. What is this holiday turning into? It used to just be a fun thing where you could be anyone you wanted to be now it seems to be an open season on being as offensive as possible.

I was that kid as well. I'm going to be calling Albertsons customer service on monday. The scary thing is younger and younger girls are wearing the sexy costumes - what are parents thinking?

We went to the mall for trick or treating since we'd been in an extended stay hotel since we found the customs operations my husband worked on would be shut down and planes diverted elsewhere - didn't want to sign another lease....
Some of the costumes of kids - and teens were much too racy for my taste. What did you see?

I've never seen anyone dressed up in retail stores although some workers at dollar stores or thrift stores - and Blockbuster always look to be in costume...and I think its great that they don't assume they won't be good workers just because they like to dress and accesorize differently then most. They might even be better if they know they're being accepted for who they are.
