How many local houses had candy for Halloween? |
|
Usually it is every house or every other house with candy for trick or treaters. This year if we got candy every fourth or fifth house, I thought we were doing good. I am wondering if all the parents are going to the organized parties and such. I thought more people would give out candy.

However, in this area they have what is called trunk-or-treat in which candy is giving out from the trucks or cargo area in SUVs or minivans in Church parking lots. Last year my son raked up on candy at stopping at just three church parking lots. Oddly though, he didn't even want to go trick or treating this year. And he is seven years old. Of interest, I took notice that at Christmas, here, that only three or four houses out of ten had any sort of Christmas decorations out from. And even more odd, most that had decorations are of lower economic status.

I never really cared until I had children and now I decorate for Christmas and all the other holidays. I just don't understand the lack of "fun" from the higher economic classes. I guess they are saving all of their money instead of spending it on such nonsense. To each their own. I would think the lower income brackets wouldn't be able to afford to decorate.
In our area all the churches had the trunk or treat and then the downtown areas had businesses giving out candy as well as free games and "haunted" tours. It was a well organized event for each town.

My kids had their experience for trick or treat in the school and in the mall. they received lots of candies that up to this time we still have a lot. I even ernjoyed some of it.

3. Canellita (3182) | 4 weeks ago | Hon, I don't do Halloween. The neighborhood association has a little gathering every year on my street and they shut off two blocks, fortunately niether is mine, to do it. Of course people park in my block which can be a problem since it takes up parking from those of us who live here. Next year I may send a note to the president asking people to be more considerate.

mommaj (1033) | 4 weeks ago | Wow, that is incredible. It's nice to have something like that, but they really should think about the parking. I think a lot of people don't do Halloween, but I am surprised that areas that used to do it, now don't. I think parents and grandparents should do Halloween. I will never forget the year my husband found out he had diabetes. We gave out packs of famous amos cookies because he wasn't going to eat them. This was before we had kids. It was so funny, the little kids kept saying wow and thank you. They were so cute.

Canellita (3182) | 4 weeks ago | That is cute. If I did hand out treats I would not want to hand out candy. I would have to find something more healthy to give away. I am just usually not here or busy doing something or whatever.
