Where is gratitude?

It looks like the word 'gratitude' has been removed from the dictionary!! I am experiencing this attitude in my day to day life inasmuch as not a single person I help will come back and thank me (lol) Are you experiencing the same? Why is there no gratitude in this world.

allknowing my suggestion is that you help people because you want to and do not expect anything back, that way you will not feel
hurt. I know a lot of people may really be grateful but somehow it does not occur to them to open their mouths and say a simple
thank you. there is gratitude in this world but sometimes you may have to trigger it. I often here in Gold Crest say thank you to the care giver who hands me my medications, or does my laundry because although they are paid, they are not my servants to just be ordered around, they are very kind and work so hard..

Hi Hatley. I am perpetually in the attitude of gratitude and there is not a moment that I do not say 'Praise the Lord' and with this as the background it becomes difficult not to expect a thank you but as you have rightly said it is in our interest to move on without expecting anything. Am trying (lol)!!!

I experience that as well. People basically take stuff for granted. It's an unfortunate fact, but I try not to let it get to me. I try not to do good to be noticed. I know that when I help someone, I will get paid back, what goes around comes around. Plus I have God's favor when I help someone.

well there's gratitude in the world, especially if you choose to see it. but if you're morals are higher than others then gratitude may not be so always there. i don't know what's better to see gratitude in the world or to have better morals. but you can always believe in goodness. and ignore awful things, and do things that can enable you to ignore the awful things even more in the future.
